to be positive here - thanks for creating such tutorials. some aspiring people (such as myself) find this sucha huge resource especially when i've plonked down few hundred pounds on such a software and have spent hours rummaging through cyberspace junk to come across something as practical as this. thanks digidesign.
@TylerMatthewSonn What a bunch of arrogant pricks. Your dicks are as big as the thumb on the hand:) No one is perfect, accept me and my big ten inch-record of my favorite tune.
Logic is way better at comping tracks than pro tools. It took digidesign to long to give there le systems 48 tracks, 32 tracks? are you F'ing kidding me. Now they are trying to play catchup to Logic. At the NAMM show everyone was using Logic as there DAW, only waves was using pro tools. Sorry digidesign, you are losing this race.
You do not HAVE to buy HD to have delay comp there are numerous other options. I for instance use Mellowmuse auto time adjuster for around $50 its great. Your choice $20k or $50.
Anyone using PRO FOOLS 7.4 LE or MP and up has no PDC now, digidesign hid this info from users when introducing 7.4, the feature is in every DAW, Plug-in Delay Compensation is a crucial feature that prevents out of sync plugs ins
What is Plug-in Delay and Why Should I Care?
When you insert a plug-in into your signal path, it takes some amount of CPU cycles in order to do its task.
You are talking about ADC (automatic delay compensation). In any case, Digidesign didn't "hide" this info. No DAW announces what they don't have. That doesn't mean they are hiding things from their users. They have said that it will be available in the near future for LE/M-Powered systems. HD systems already have it.
I miss Phil Jackson. I wish Avid would hire him back.

@TylerMatthewSonn what if he want to try out lots of ideas, and you have a happy accident in the process?
then you'd be kicking yourself trying to record that accident a second time.

dukesara 1 year ago
@dukesara I'm sure that you've figured it out by now, but all you have to do is "Bounce To Disk." This is a simple way to "master" your session.

Question, Why do they record in mono?
esptherapper 2 years ago
why would you record a guitar in stereo?
jakeboi 2 years ago 6
why not?
CapnBooBoo 2 years ago
@jakeboi Where is the stereo guitar?
KBird0403 1 year ago
@jakeboi To split an assigned stereo processed chorus pan sequence in a wide pattern for effect in realtime, fuckhead.
hartistry1957 1 year ago 2
Because one mic = one track. It's how you pan those mono tracks that make a stereo sound.

Why do we have to buy PT HD to have delay compensation when earlier versions had it and all DAWS out there do now ?

PT 8 has delay compensation. An we used DAWs for years without ADC you just fix the phase with a sample delay
horngod420 2 years ago
you mean PT 8 HD, not the other versions
CapnBooBoo 2 years ago
yes it does. one with preset 808 and 909 drums and another that you can load your own drums in can transfuser....
Audiolandmusik 3 years ago
it's not built in, it's a sepearate free plugin provided with the DAW.
NunyaBobbyAtayoel 3 years ago
does that software have a built in drum machine
banditeasley 3 years ago
Yes there is the boom drum machine and plugins like xpand2 and others can be used to play drums too. But boom is a drum machine
