SPOCK'S BEARD "IS" THE PROG BOMB!!!! - WITH NEIL OR WITHOUT - WITH NICK OR WITHOUT - THEY FORGE AHEAD LIKE THE PRO'S THEY ARE - WITH SPECIAL REGARD TO BASSIST "DAVE MEROS" - WHO, NOT ONLY IS ONE HELLUVA BASSIST, IS A GENUINELY GREAT GUY!! I WAS WEANED ON YES, ELP, PINK FLOYD, T.RUNDGREN'S-"A WIZARD, A TRUE STAR",ESPECIALLY EARLY-'80'S-BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF "GENESIS". THE "BEARD" ARE THE BEST PROG BAND, TOO HAPPEN MY WAY SINCE I 1ST HEARD GENESIS' "THE LAMB..." IN '75.LOOK FOR NEW S.B. DVD!!
Who could've predicted that GH's Jon would take on the lead vocals with YES in 2012, three years after this video was posted? I like this interpretation of what is already a perfect song by YES.
I have not felt so good about music in a LOOONG time. I had been lost in the radio and forgotten my love of Prog Rock. My Eyes are reopened and my mind is reawakend, Thank you Glass Hammer! Consider me as a big a fan as of Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis (Gabriel), Gentle Giant, I could go on. Please be doing shows in L.A. soon.
one improvement on the original... Howe's guitar always sounded like he was playing it with a hacksaw blade. Ability unproduced. This is milder and better. Going for the one sounded bloody awful even tho the music was brilliant
haha I heard a song with Glass hammer for the first time a couple of minutes ago, and the first thing I said was "this band loves YES" and I was right.. haha I like this
after hearing the original hundreds of times... hard to judge this on first listen. I definitely liked the end guitar solo. You brought something new to it.
Hey Mattleemattlee123: regarding the quote about sequenced drums - these drums are live and played by Matt Mendians of Glass Hammer. (feel stupid now?)
I actually kind of like it. The verse sections are really restrained and that adds to the tension. I still prefer the original, mainly because Howe's guitar playing absolutely tears it up and it's about as bombastic as prog gets. It's a terrific song regardless.
It's OK...if you enjoy sequenced drums and super-processed, over-distorted neo-Van Halen guitar sounds. Could have been good, but the blockheads today don't know how to create music without the over-use of technology. Hint: if a machine does the work, it sounds like A MACHINE. The human touch is missing. (The middle section [la la la part] is a dead-nuts copy of the original...except they have the ever-present chorus taking all the character out of the vocals.)
@mattleemattlee123 people like you are so fucking annoying. have you even recorded before?? you kinda need a computer to be able to record at all. and the guitar has barely any distortion. but you can go and listen to your boring, back to basics, out of date, old school music if you like.
@mensamoo as a guitarist myself, i could play something so fast and complex that almost no one would be able to replicate it. but instead i use my talent to make something that people actually enjoy listening to, like this.
Aren 't they great? A friend turned me on to them when we were driving up to see Yes late last year. Jon Anderson does background vocals on this song.
These guys are great, I can't believe I have never heard of them before now..I heard a song by them on Sirius and then came here to hear more...great cover of this song, thanks for posting
THIS PERFORMANCE IS INCREDIBLE! I have lost track of just how many times I have listened to it. A great version of an awesome song by YES.

This version of SSOTS is fantastic. Vocals well thought out. They seem to have captured the original mood intent of YES for this tune.
