Hawk's gun is a long barreled .44 magnum revolver, the largest revolver in the world if I recall correctly. It's the gun Dirty Harry was rockin back in the day....
I loooved this show man.The symbolism, the music, the clothes...loved it. I wish it had more time to develope and actually reach its incredible potential. Lolol the slang is way old skool. "Hawk! What it is?!" That's 70's slang in the 90's...and wasn't there a big retro kick going on in the 90s?

@ATACXGYM It was way ahead of it's time, the country was almost ready to take a black man seriously for a whole hour's worth of drama and suspense, but not quite yet. And Avery presented this powerful image of a man who was completely unapologetic about his cultural ethnicity, while also dispensing his own personal brand of justice.
AMCH was unappreciated television in a time where 99.9% of all programs starring black men were accompanied with laugh tracks.
@VRmission38 Idk why I said that Hawk's gun was a .44 Magnum. It's a .357 Python,I'm pretty sure. And your comment about AMCH being ahead of its time is supremely accurate,VR. Feelin that like a total body massage,homie.Pause.Lol. There has been nothing close to this show ever since. I'd even be happy to see SPENCER FOR HIRE back on the air, with cameos from Avery and Robert Urich (he's still alive, right?)
@ATACXGYM No, Urich passed away in 02 or 03 I think. At one time he thought he had his cancer beat, but sadly it came back with a vengeance.
As for Avery, I think it might be very hard to get him to do another television program. He's quite committed to the theater and his music. But you can always hear his powerful voice narrating documentaries and programs on National Geographics and Discovery.
@VRmission38 Thank you very much for the update man...I thought Urich had beat it too. How very depressing, and my belated condolences to his family. I think that with the right role? Mr. Brooks could be swayed to come away from the stage for awhile. Could you imagine him playing the father of T'Challa the Black Panther? I could. And what a voice he has! I will make it a point to check out the shows that he narrates; I didn't know that he did that.Thank you again bruh. Good lookin out!
much heavy symbolism in this show that a lot of people don't even see..quite amazing. EVERYONE WHO WATCHES THIS NEEDS TO WATCH HANCOCK EXOSED THE METAPHYSICAL BREAKDOWN. Guaranteed you will thank me later.
@mokahquincy71 Agreed!! i was a young bro when this series came on always on friday nights and i missed a lot of episodes. Before wesley snipe there was definitely avery brook!!!

This is the series that really needs to come to DVD despite the fact that it was only on for one season.

@mokahquincy71 Since it was on for only one season it should make it that much easier to package and market for a reasonable price.
