  • So touching....one of the best performances of Barber's Agnus Dei that exist.

  • love the choir.. so heavenly.

  • this is absolutely beautiful...im in my skl choir, 14 years old and hope one day 2 sound this amazing!

  • Even though I am an atheist, I find this music absolutely divine. It seems religion was a powerful source of inspiration for musicians and composers.

  • indubbiamente la migliore interpretazione, grazie, giovanni vianini, SCHOLA CANTORUM MILANO, Italia

  • When was this recording made ? I am wondering at the bad image quality of the video (?).

  • I think this is the best rendition of Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei. I would rather enjoy playing it more if it wasn't for the audio quality (over modulation and distortion) on this video. It will be nice to re-upload this master piece.

  • Listening to this actually brings tears to my eyes - whit's at I imagine a choir of angels will be like in heaven (hope I'm right!) - otherwise, this is heaven on earth. LOVE!

  • I can't decide which version is better, the Adagio for Strings or this one... it's like comparing bliss and rapture...

    Agree with Carlyofyork.

  • ooops says so at beginnning. sorry. silly me:)

  • Is that Higginbottom conducting? :)

  • Using part of this song for a devised drama piece about the London bombings :'(

  • Using this as a background song for a powerpoint about the London Bombings... Devised Drama Piece, depressing song!

  • This music does sound like it's straight from Heaven.

  • The excellence, te best version from all differents version we hard

  • Amazing...but ...Too short...!!!....

  • Beautiful...but the always reminds me of Boondock Saints...and I have no idea why.

  • i swear some songs are already written in heaven and given to the right spirit before birth then brought into the world by that person we think composed it. songs like these arent written by human but created by God then put in hands of those only God can trust. was that poetic or what, LOL. i oughta write books, LOL. no need to thank me guys, no really.

  • @1rem72

Agree wholeheartedly that this work is God's gift to us!

  • There really is something special about a childs voice.

  • quelle bonheur magnifique !!!!!

  • this sounds just like a symphonic song, adagio for strings

  • @GriffinKing1991 it is, Barber wrote a transcription for voice set the words of Agnus Dei

  • Breathtaking...

  • New College Choir and Edward Higginbottom reach perfection. Thank you.

  • Love young male sopranos yes!

  • that must have been filmed in 1995-1996 period, based on the trebles in the front row!

  • This is a stunning performance, but only about half of it is in this video. The best part comes later when the kids hit some unbelievable high notes. Still, I'm glad I saw this because I only heard this on the radio once and didn't know that the soprano voices were boys or that there was a video at all. I'll have to buy that CD.

  • Beautifull! The video is quite old, isn't it?

  • ALL members of the choir are in splendid form . I played this through my MIDI socket on my ORLA (Italian) 2 Manual plus C-C pedals Electronic Organ.

  • Congratulations on this magnificent interpretation

    Sincerely. Rossend

  • Ahhh Wow Oh yes. This is the best performance from Bieber's Agnus Dei, of course my opinion. And yes first time I see this one live. I'm very lucky to see before I going in heaven. Ah when New College come in Montreal, I hope meet the master.

  • I forget. We have one Anglican Cathedral, Christ Church Cathedral, in Montreal lol The Choirmaster is Patrick Wedd.

  • @ald2345 I think so lol Look: Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber(1644-1704); second Justin Bieber, boy singer; and of course Barber. lol Oh boy, thank you for this peak, Freud is happy now.
