This was the package my family got back in '85. It was a blast!

This was released at a time when home gaming systems were not selling well, and was suffering from a bloated market of wannabes and crap games.

Nintendo cleverly marketed their "entertainment" system with the crappy ROB robot that barely worked, but was a cool gimick to get people to buy their product.

NES was fantastic back then! I have many great memories tied up in that game system.

I think the system is gonna last forever because some of those games were so great and many people will remember it

My mom got me this for X-mas back in 1985 or 86. i still have it in mint condition. R.O.B the video robot was no joke. I beat the shit out of Gyromite.

The ROB stood for Robotic Operating Buddy. He worked like the Duck Hunt gun. You would control a virtual ROB on the screen, and the real-world ROB would copy its counterpart with an infared sensor. ROB could pick things up and place them on spinning things to make them spin... I think. ROB was WAY before my time.
