The new EP is going to be a mellow interpretation of songs from Traced in Air plus this song. I guess the next full-length will be more metal again. I don't care either way, because everything they create is gold in my view

A lot of people share that opinion that Cynic should have stayed with the "Focus" sound. But honestly, if they had waited 15 years to make a second album and it came out sounding like focus, that would be pretty damn weak. Musicians are supposed to explore and progress, that's what Cynic is doing.

This song is pretty cool and all. I like the vibe. But Im a little disappointed also. I just love the type of writing off Focus so much better. Im just really attached to that album. Its more technical, and just more metal. But eh, some bands don't stay the same.

Paul sounded like he had a cold when I met him. It was in NYC, and he's from Florida and LA so I'm sure he's not used to the frigid cold up here lol.

But even though he was clearly freezing his ass off, he still took the time to talk and take a picture with me. What an awesome guy.

me and my friend met paul after the show. like the other dude said the ep is done itll be out late march or early april. They said theyre just really enjoying the music right now and dont want to stop so hopefully we can look forward to more cynic very soon. p.s. and my drummer caught Sean Reinert's drum stick haha....perfection
