  • I would add Steven Pinker's latest book a history of violence, as well as Third World American by Arriana Huffington as well.

  • lol Nujabes

  • Omg, there are so many books I'd add to the list that I wouldn't know where to start, but I'd really encourage people to read "The tyranny of Words" which is already on the list, it changed a lot of things in my life...

  • Hi. Here's another book that could be added to this list:

"Critical Thinking: Tools for Taking Charge of Your Professional & Personal Life" Authors: Richard Paul and Linda Elder, 2002 (Found at CriticalThinking (dot) org

A quote from CriticalThinking (dot) org

'Everything you do in life is determined by the quality of your thinking. If you aren't thinking clearly, you're at the mercy of everyone else-from dishonest politicians to aggressive, stop-at-nothing ad agencies.'

  • If you read the Bible, you will awaken to those who will turn you into slaves. The New World Order is nothing new. The earth is not heating up. We may be destroying the atmosphere, but that is not what has been said. Look up the "growing earth theory" and you will find that it makes more sense than all this nonsense. Many of these books have been written to explain the how but fail to explain the cause - taxation without representation. So END THE FED!!!

  • @senses2000 First of all you made a lot of assertions to your point. Second of all The Earth Expanding is not true due to Scientific Consensus. Third, you made no sense in your explanation on how the bible plays into "awaken to those who will turn you into slaves". Your statements make no sense regarding the video. My video mentions nothing about the New World Order. Can you please stop making surface associations because you are not coherent at all.

  • @rationalhumano the new world order is his explanation that plays into "awaken to those who will turn you into slaves" moron. the video mentions man made global warming as a reality when in fact it is a scam by the new world order. therefore the new world order applies to this video. please try to have an open mind and dont think that you're the only one that can argue ;)

    "The Bible" (God)

  • @smartwarlord It has been said the quickest route to abandoning faith is to read the Bible, so I second your suggestion.

  • @smartwarlord I read that book several times growing up in a catholic home. I reached the conclusion that that book is filed with ancient fables that teach morals and values, but does not give information on current events. For a teaching tool on how to behave, it made sense 2000 years ago. With new discoveries over time (2000 years) many of myths and mysteries have been answered . So I find that book to be irreverent today. I can read a lot of fantasy books that can make me feel good.

  • @rationalhumano

You've never read it if you were Catholic. Especially if you read an English translation. Pick up an actual Bible (Tanakh).

  • @smartwarlord Let me explain my point a more clearly, I'm a rational person and I use critical thinking. I live by the scientific method ie (hypothesis, experiment, results, conclusion). All religious texts don't use the scientific method because they are filled with allegorical stories that don't solve root cause problems we see today. My video only mentions about current events and points out root cause problems that can be fixed if we actually use our minds and actually do something about it

  • @rationalhumano

Right - I understand that is a modern argument against Christianity & Islam, however, in Judaism we have tikkum olam. Perfecting the world. It is our moral obligation to protect the planet, its life (and therefore biosphere) and to develop the human species so that all humans can live peaceful and proper lives in harmony. This is an advocation of science/technology and you will notice that technology and development is one of the largest fields in Israel.

  • @smartwarlord

And the studying of the text of the Tanakh (Bible) brought about the likes of Albert Einstein, Carl Sagan, Maimonides, etc. It is a very enriching masterpiece of literature. And it is the very basis of Mercantilism - which is the father of Capitalism, thus, in a way - the Occident (the West) was built upon the foundations of Jerusalem.

  • Gotta luv dem books. Nice compliation. To each his own, but 'Confessions of an economic hit man' by Perkins and 'The ethnic cleansing of Palestine' by Pappe are two 'musts'.

    Thanks for posting.

  • for a more accessible entry into the world of books about 'the world' i'd recommend Bill Bryson's A short history of nearly everything.

    great video btw.

  • Thank you for your recommendation, it is appreciated. XD

  • nice i'll have to check some of these out

  • Very good taste in books my man! I think I might make a similar video, but to add to your list try, A Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan. Peace.

  • Excellent! Thanks for the addition!

  • nice list!

  • Thank you. I just added "The Black Swan" to the list. Thank you for the synopsis.

  • * Neil Postman. Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business. Penguin USA, 1985. ISBN 0-670-80454-1

  • ありごとうござます!

  • add the Republican War on Science - by Chris Mooney, and Hot, Flat And Crowded by Thomas L Friedman

  • Thank you for the additions much appreciated.

  • That is an excellent list! Every time I saw a book I thought, "oh, if you like that one you should read..." and then the next book on your list was the one I was thinking of.

HOWEVER, you did miss an amazing book called "How We Decide" by Jonah Lehrer

It breaks down the chemical processes behind decision making and puts forward hypotheses for why the same people with the same evidence will make different decisions based off it. It has completely changed they way I look at choices.

    READ IT! :)

  • Thank you for the recommendation. I will gladly rent it from the library. Most of the books on that list I checked out of the library. I made this video to expand my knowledge of different subjects and sharing them with other people. Thanks again. Peace and Sin Dios.
