  • Metalskinstudios sent me to watch this, instant sub, beautiful work!

  • Well, I needed a good cry this morning. Beautifully edited, esp the little clip of Whoopi talking about her marriages, after you'd said "normal." bravo.

  • Dear Canadians, stop importing this US bullshit. You have a fine country, and please, on behalf of the civilized world, keep it that way.

  • @Ranokian Stop importing the US bullshit? We're just as bad as our neighbours to the south, the only reason why American gets more attention for its bigoted assholes is America's so much more populated and more recognized worldwide. Remember, Venomfangx is Canadian.

  • @Ziggie1o1 I always thought Canada was a liberal country. Am I wrong?

  • @Ranokian Most Canadians think its a liberal country, but it aint. Countries like Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, and socially, Japan (although Japan is right wing economically,) are much more liberal than we are. We're about on par with the USA, we just think we're better.

  • How about these Christians or Muslims or Buddhists or whatever group of people that want to complain about various minorities and impose themselves on everyone else are not Canadian. Canada has laws to be observed so there is no need to create problems for neighbors by nitpicking and cruelty. Be kind people.

  • Again I say that's the wrong "trans", but yes, I get the point. XD And would you believe there was ANOTHER ad trying to rile people into getting rid of teachers who were transgendered, for the same reasons? Of course you would. That's the sad part.

What's even worse is that unlike homosexuals, Transgendered actually DON'T have a whole community to fall back on. Many homosexuals view them as a personal insult, and even other trans are wary due to trans-trending. It's a sad world.

  • I'm Canadian. I have a gay cousin - I love and accept him and his partner as much as the rest of my family.

However, I think it's inappropriate for the grade 3 (8-9 years old) curriculum to include ANY sex education, be it heterosexual or otherwise. Children of that age are not mature enough to understand its complexities.

Sex education should begin when children are approaching puberty - say grade 7 (12-13 years old).

Are these views "bigoted" and "intolerant", or just common sense?

  • @boskinator ugh...

No, it is important for children to learn sexual education before they reach they age of potential sexual activity. It may sound awkward, and people don't like to talk about it, but it's important. It's not going to encourage people to be sexual earlier, if that's what your problem is.

  • @Ziggie1o1

Fine, but grade three is just a bit too early.

If you actually read my comment until the end, you'd see what my "problem" is with this legislation, instead of assuming.

  • @boskinator Yes, these views are bigoted and intolerant, if that's what your wondering. Its impossible to have young children avoid hearing and talking about sexuality entirely, and its important they have a good understanding of what it is before they reach puberty, and this includes heterosexuality, homosexuality, transsexuality, etc. Please remember that most children do have some sexual thoughts before puberty (I know I did.)

  • @boskinator And no, I don't believe Grade 3 is too early. If you had said kindergarten, yeah, maybe that's a little bit to early, but I think 8-9 year olds are mature enough to understand what sexuality is. Maybe I have too much faith in our youngest generation, but thats what I believe.

  • @Ziggie1o1

No offense, but you hardly seem old enough to actually know what you're talking about. I highly doubt you have children. When you do have some, you'll understand that an 8-year old does NOT need to learn about drag queens, gay, "two-spirited" and transgender people.

To oppose this type of education for such young children does not make me (or anyone) a homophobe or a bigot. However, "free-thinker's" and liberals love to jump down the throat of anyone who dares speak up. Enough P.C.

  • @boskinator Saying "no offense" before insulting someone doesn't change the message of what you're saying, man. No, I don't have children of my own, but I don't see why that should matter.

And yes, opposing sexual education for young children makes you a fucking bigot. I know you probably don't see yourself as a bigot, but you are. Deal with it. Sexual education for people before they hit puberty is not only helpful, but its essential.

  • @Ziggie1o1

I didn't insult you - I stated facts. Facts that an overly sensitive, POTHEAD teen can only construe as "insults".

Having children of your own makes ALL of the difference in the world, you idiotic, naive little pissant. How could you possibly know what is good OTHER people's children? You fucking libtards make me sick 2 my stomach. I can't wait until u get out of mommy and daddy's basement and life in the REAL world kicks u in the nuts a few times.

    I'm a bigot cause u say I am? LOL!

  • @boskinator Look, if you want to live in your fantasy world where sexuality doesn't exist before you turn 12, that's fine, but if you're going to make stupid comments, expect to get challenged.

And how could you say what's good for other people's kids either. I don't know whether you have children, but as I said in the past, it doesn't matter, and your denial of that fact doesn't change its validity.

Btw, I love how you have pothead in capital letters. Nice ad hom, dickhead.

  • @Ziggie1o1

Please. Are you a childhood educator? Have you studied child psychology? I bet not. You are a pothead living in mommy's basement, acting as if you have ANY real world experience. I will bet my left testicle you are a virgin.

I do have children - so do most of my friends. Please stop acting like you know what you're talking about. You're making a fool out of yourself.

You keep saying things without backing them up "because I say so, it must be true, so listen!".

    You're a child.

  • @boskinator OK, what is the deal with your obsession with my sexual experiences. It's a little bit awkward actually, but whatever. Anyways, you criticize me for not backing any of my claims, when you aren't backing up any of yours, except for your constant assertion that you have more experience than I do. Well congratulations on being alive longer, because obviously that means everything.

  • @Ziggie1o1

Listen to yourself. This video is about sexuality. You're purporting to be an "expert" with regards to how young children should be when they learn about sexuality, yet you're hardly 20, you live at home with mom and dad, and you have no children. Wakey wakey.

I back up everything I write with logic. Go through all of the comments.

You finally got one thing right, however; experience IS everything.

    Now grow up.

  • It makes me want shit plutonium how Canadas right wingers have gone to batshit like the tea-party. The cover of the sun today said that hell on earth is coming because the tories didnt win. Im not kidding, hell on earth. I know Alquaeda is all but dead but I wish theyd bomb the fuck out of the sun media group, aka the chief driver of this insanity.

  • Excellent piece, Bob...I've added it to my playlist on Bigotry.

The time to speak out against crap like this is the first moment it rears its head, where it wasn't seen before. Concerted opposition has to be maintained, and humor and mockery are some of the best weapons against them. Religious zealotry has kind of gone out of fashion since the crusades and the Inquisition...somebody oughtta send these people a candy-gram or something and bring them up to date...

  • I grew up under Section 28 in Englad, a law, preventing teachers from discussing anything but hetrosexuality in the classroom. I'm not sure if we had any gay students but the sensible minority (Chav area) constantly trolled the teachers in every sex ed class about homosexuality. Reactions were mainly fustration of an atheist or liberal religious teacher wanting to talk but having the law stand in their way. One actually said "fuck it, I'm breaking the law but..."

  • Funny...nice job. Every little bit helps.

  • I agree with most of the things that you said and I would like to have a discussion of the use of the word "Tolerance" when used to describe a group of people's acceptance of another group's culture. There are a lot of things that I tolerate, as in, "Accept or endure (someone or something unpleasant or disliked) with forbearance" [google]. I hate to seem politically correct, but i dislike this term when used to describe human beings, unless they're really really ugly. I can't tolerate that shit.

  • I am Spartacus.

  • Looking at some of the subtext in the "I'm a Girl, Don't Confuse Me" video, it seems to play on the kind of "women and girls" 'feminism' that the religious right and radfems seem to find such common ground over. The transphobia fits right in.

  • I don't remember that particular TNG moment. After looking it up, I see it's "Nemesis". Never saw that nor "Insurrection". I'll have to see those and properly raise my geekiness quotient.

  • @iamcuriousblue I will warn you...they aren't very good. >_<

  • @BobChaos23 So I've heard, which is probably why I didn't bother to see them the first time around. But I might make a double feature of them so I can finally say I've seen *all* the Trek movies.

Not that I'm a total completist about Star Trek. No way I'm going to sit through a bunch of DVDs just to get caught up on Voyager.

  • You're not going anywhere? Neither am I. What possible motivation could drive you to think it is alright to challenge a child's self concept at such an early age. Propaganda is not Canadian either. Lobby groups pushing for this message to be dispensed in schools and daycare are absolutely no different than the people of a few generations ago who pushed us to read the Bible and to pledge allegiance to our country. How does replacing one with another improve us? It's just a different message.

  • @RedC53 Yes, teaching kids that something exists, that it's ok, and that if they happen to be like that that it is also ok, that's totally forcing them to be like that themselves.

Just like those gays, always trying to convert everyone around them to also be gay, corrupting the children and shit...there outta be a law!

    Herp dee derp.

  • @BobChaos23 Oh, and I said that people who are trans aren't going anywhere...I don't happen to be myself, actually. Though if I had been, I would hope that I wouldn't be shamed in school for being so, something I have seen in others throughout my schooling, if they were even vaguely different in that way.

  • canadian values my ass

  • Darn Canadians, stealing our good old fashioned American Values(TM).

  • Thanks for this video Bon and for sticking up for us :) Means alot.

    All love from me Jasmine

  • @Eopyk My pleasure. <3

  • The National Post is run by the Canadian equivalent of Faux News. I have no time for it. Frankly watching that misleading advert is sickening. Good job exposing this, and thank you.

  • @firefly4f4 No problem...glad to call this kind of shit out for what it is. =)

  • Don't Confuse me... Tell me exactly what you want me to be.

There's plenty of gender bending in the folklore of the Abrahamic faiths. Wish I could recall some specifics. There's lots in western history, and even more in the various traditional beliefs and stories from around the world. To imply that learning not everyone is a binary X or Y is gonna confuse people is silly.

  • @TheBoyFromNorfolk There is alot of trans stuff in mythology. In some cases like some native american they where holy. In ancient Mesopotamia trans people existed in the temples and they hade a specific Me( Aspects of civlization with contact of the divine. Hard to describe in just few words :P )

Bob is awsome for fighting this hate means alot to me because I am trans myself .

    All love from me Jasmine

  • Don't confuse me: I'm stupid. Hurr! What nonsense.

  • These are NOT Canadian values, nor are they typical of people in my province, Ontario. I am so sick of theocrats trying to push their religious dogma on the rest of us. It's especially rich that they are going on about the Two-Spirited whilst sitting on stolen Native land.

Modern Canadian values are built on pluralism not bigotry.

    Laurel

  • @YeOldeHeretic Yeah, I didn't even get into that whole "Two Spirited" discussion, or I would have had to make a whole other video...but to ignore any segment of our population because of religious dogma is beyond sickening, and not what Canada is about at all. Some people feel racism is justified by the bible, for example...can they then pull their kids out of class because they are discussing segregation or residential schools? O_o

  • @BobChaos23 Heh, I am sure if Mike Harris had had his way here residential schools would have been started back up. After Ipperwash it is clear how he felt about First Nations {but he was already a known racist here in North Bay before he was voted in}. Lucky us, we might have a mini Harper-Harris hybrid voted in next week.

    Laurel

  • @YeOldeHeretic Count me in. I live out in the country, in clearview twp, and that shit is everywhere. Weve still got a KKKlan here (though the average age is 75) that refuses to die. I wish these old farts would just die off and take their BS with them.

  • @TheCaptainLulz Sorry to hear about the stragglers you have but you do live in a pretty area though. Hopefully all the bigots will take a dirt nap soon and your area will be even more beautiful. ;)

    Laurel

  • @YeOldeHeretic Im an atheist but I usually say the nottawasaga valey is paradise. Yeah, they are dropping like flys now. Stayner has changed alot in the time Ive lived here, mostly for the good. Good luck to you maam.

  • @YeOldeHeretic Great comment super lovley :D

    All love from me Jasmine

  • @Eopyk Why thank you sweet lady! :)

    <3

    Laurel

  • By the way, what films were the clips from?

  • @wormsto Star Trek Nemesis, Spartacus and Too Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar....oh, and for future reference, I usually include them in my Tags. =)

  • @BobChaos23 Why thank you :)

  • I feel seriously sick after watching that propaganda piece.

  • Someone needs to re-edit that advert. Everytime it comes up with 'boy' girl' 'trans' etc it should be replaced with 'human'

"Am I a human? Stop confusing me. I'm a human!"

  • @HarunYahyate actually, there are quite a few 50-60 year old trannies. it's not as common as younger trannies though, since they grew up in an era when it was looked down upon, but they still do exist

  • This video is awesome XD

  • @BobChaos23 (Continuation) What's not fine is taking that thought to a different level, and turning it into hate, then taking it even farther and acting upon that hate though violence, bigotry, and discrimination. THAT is not ok at all. You shouldn't alienate people if you don't agree with them, just deal with it. Like I don't care if gay people get married, but I view being gay as an oddity, and weird, I can view how I view things, but it shouldn't impede on others views if you get what I mean.

  • @BobChaos23 Not basing it off any studies, I guessed, I'm willing to look at studies that say what real numbers are, and with legitimate proof I will believe facts. Being gay is in my eye's is odd, yes it happens in nature, same sex animals do have sexual intercourse, so its not abnormal yet to me its still odd, but you shouldn't discriminate/hate. It's up to each individual what they want to do with their lives. Same way how its perfectly fine to think that's normal, its fine to think it's odd.

  • I agree with Bob's distain for bigotry and rebuke of hate. Fuck anyone who claims hate of a sexual identity represents Canadian values

  • As a soldier of the Canadian Forces for some 25 years, I stood firm in protecting the rights of individuals to say the nonsense expressed in this vid. I would do so again. But I don't support a word of it. It is utter drivel, tripe and stupidity.

On any given day, I would rather share a trench with the most wildly homosexual soldier (female or male) than a fundamentalist retard. I could at least have a conversation based on reality with the homosexual. And they appreciate rights.

  • @rohanwotan2 Well said....and thank you for defending *actual* Canadian values, even if you don't agree with the specifics of what the people who benefit from those values spew...that says a lot. =)

  • @BobChaos23

Thank you, Bob, very much appreciated. In re-reading my comments I realized that it could be taken as a criticism of your rebuttal of the core vid. That wasn't my intent, as I hope I made clear, but I have a tendency of fumbling my words. I support your take on the ad I was criticizing the National Post ad and not your stance. But I'm glad there are folks like you bringing things to the fore. Best....RW2.....the one awkward with words. ;)

  • @rohanwotan2 Haha, no worries...I took the meaning as you intended, actually, though I suppose the wording was a bit vague. =)

  • @TheElMoIsEviL Hard to say...but hopefully people will stand up and have a say and not let that happen. =)

  • Anti-bigotry is code for anti-Canadian

.....Am I doing it right? >.>

  • @HarunYahyate "Unavailable channel" = blocked.

"Unavailable channel" that spews shit like that = SO blocked.

  • But I agree, let them do whatever they want.

  • I don't hate them transgender people, but I just find them hilarious. Like maybe 1 out of a million people have hormonal issues, and are actually in the wrong body, but majority aren't. I definitely wouldn't segregate, or discriminate against them especially if I ran a business/school. I lol because they're just one of the many odd, absurd, and even at times obscene things that our society is forcing us to now think are perfectly normal, and that you're an asshole if you think it's not normal.

  • @bob333336 So, if I may ask, this "one in a million" figure...which study does that come from?

I mean, anyone could similarly claim that being gay is an abnormal state showing up in less than one per cent of the population, and many did at one point. Funny thing is though, they were wrong. Similarly with some who would call themselves "race realists", insisting those who have children with someone with a different skin colour are just asking for birth defects. Et cetera.

  • I always find it interesting that these right-wing organisations always say they are promoting the values of whatever country they happen to live in, as if they cannot find any other way to justify their stance. After all, what other kinds of values do these people give? Not any of value; that's for sure.

  • @AmishMachinery "Traditionalists" who are nothing of the sort...

  • dammit. and my escape route when america gets too fucked up with bigotry and nutcases was to flea to canada. now i have to sit here and think.....what to do? what to do?

  • @420simpson Start your own country? LOL

  • I wonder why they never use the ugly kids in their propoganda. Could it be because cute kids have more emotionl appeal?.......I think so.

I hate this sort of rubbish.

  • @monkeytail2002 "For the Children™" O_o

  • Thanks Bob.

"Nothing this pretty could be real." Epic lulz.

  • @TheLaughingOut Hey, she was one sexy old drag queen. <3

  • I LOVE that scene from To Wong Fu where he says "here comes momma" and they start getting dressed with the song "Where is the Body" playing. I nearly had a fit. lmao XD About that propaganda clip... my jaw dropped. Literally.

  • @HappyAtheist76 Yeah, some time constraints prevented me from using a few clips.....but they will keep for another time. XD

  • The Toronto Sun posted this same ad (the one the National Post just apologized for), today in their "newspaper". Shameful.

i will be writing them a letter.

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This hate group and the “values"=hate they spout, they can keep.

I’ll stick with Respect, Pride & Love.

    ~aymi

  • @YeOldeHeretic Good on you! If you provide a link for that I can put it below the video, to show that some idiots will keep holding the torch even as it burns them...

  • Comment removed

  • That propaganda piece was pretty fucked up. Why always "think of the children"? If you really are thinking of the children you wouldn't make them feel guilt and shame over being who or what they are. No one is forcing children to question themselves. The goal is to promote acceptance of oneself and of others. I think that's a pretty fucking good goal!

  • @tattooskin72 I *almost* brought out the simpsons clip of "won't somebody PLEASE think of the children"....and yeah, why tolerance and acceptance is soemhow considered a BAD thing I will never understand....oh well, idiots will be idiots.

And if they do so disrespectfully, they will be blocked. Fuck it.

    ^_^

  • @BobChaos23

Because it neutralizes shame which is the stock and trade of the religious fundamentalist.

  • @tattooskin72 'If you really are thinking of the children you wouldn't make them feel guilt and shame over being who or what they are. ' ~ beautifully put :)

  • is that evenences doing the song for that propaganda? if so and if she is actually in support of that group than I am officially boycotting her music. oh wait. I dont listen to her.... well, I will tell all my family and friends to boycott her music.

  • @arbitor365 Well, sadly often artists have little say in how their music is used once the rights are bought...just saying.

  • National post = Nationalist post

I'm tired of people using the "think of the children" fallacy in order to justify hatred against other people. Do they not realize that there ARE children who are gay, transgendered, or questioning, and that this type of pathetic scaremongering leads to these children being bullied, teased and harassed? Do they not realize that they are responsible for the suicides of so many of these children? If they actually cared for the children they wouldn't support hate.

  • @TheLumafairy Well, that's because they DON'T. (care, that is) =(

  • what? these fuckers want to promote bigotry in my country? fuck no, I won't stand for this shit.

  • I still get the feeling a dominionist president of the states would "accidentally" nuke us to eliminate our horrible open minded threat.

  • @Darkfirebrand Naw, that might poison all our sweet, sweet water. O_o
