A 4x4 tried to bully there way in front of me in the snow last weekend, he pulled up at the side of me and started screaming at me out of his window, unfortunatly for him he trapped himself and couldnt move forward or backwards,Ill never forget the look on his face as I slowley opened my door got out and started walking round his stupid van. The sign should have been in the centre of the road so it obstructed traffic - unless someone moved it. 3)4wd-4x4

4)keep big diastance....(which is the most important even without snow..)

5)Full throttle when it is slippery and there is resistance

Too many people take stupid risks. Know what to do if you skid. Drive at the right speed for the conditions. It should be pretty simple, but people don't adjust their driving to to conditions. That's when accidents start to happen.

A smaller car will have a better chance of stopping on a slippery surface - drive train layout has nothing to do with stopping. Also it's the tyres themselves that get traction - better tyre (ie winter tyre) will give more traction regardless of drive. a 4x4 can make better use of that traction but it still depends on the tyres, and the weight.

The worst thing is that isn't the only way in! The roundabout at the bottom is accessible by a much safer route that would only usually take an extra 4 or 5 minutes to get to from the top of the road (Probably 30 minutes in this weather, but still!). People are stoopid.
