Yeah, the shows that you chose are obscure: #5 and #1. Definitely NOT the best 5 cartoons from the 80's. I'd have to see G.I. Joe and Voltron on this list.

The top 5 probably should be something like Transformers, Masters of the Universe, Robotech, Thundercats, and something like either G.I. Joe or Voltron (I'd go with Voltron, but that's just me)...

I'd also have an honorable mention for the Simpsons, as it is also a cartoon of the 80s.

I see you've already commented that "Big Mecha Anime" is for a much older audience... But at the same time, I watched it, and remember watching it (and REALLY liking it) when I was 4 or 5 (turned 5 in 1985), so you're entire theory of ignoring it has no weight with me. It should be on the top 5 as it was a cartoon that originally aired in the US in the 80s.

Nice collection man, Jayce and the wheel warriors was my favorite along with Silver hawks. But everyone who grew up in the 80's we had the best entertainment as kids. i can say those were some of the greatest moment of my life. No responsibility, made a schedule in my head for my favorite shows. Its reallllly sad to see whats on the T.V these days as "child entertainment" We had it good. p.s. What happen to Bionic six.?

Cool list, I can see how these were some of your favorites. I personally prefer Go-bots over Transformers but I wasn't a "cool" kid growing up. Also another on that I loved was Orbots from around 83-84, it was done in an anime style and to me was really cool. Another cool cartoon based off of a toy line was "Insectoids" or something like that, the toys were cool, they had a spidiers that was basically a hand puppet that the action figure rode on.

As I hope many understand, this is not by any means the offical 80`s cartoon ranking. But more or less my opinion based on my childhood ;)

I understand everyone has their own opinion, but how could you create a list with He-man and the Thunder Cats but leave out Thundarr, Flash Gordon and Tarzan Lord of the Jungle?

Blackstar was cool though.

I never got into The Transformers myself, they were just too complicated. Any cartoon based on a toy had to work in a new plot line each time the came up with new toys to buy. Just got to be too much work to follow.

To be honest. I have never seen those cartoons before. I checked out Thundarr, and it seems awsome :) .

Transformers had some "dark" parts most other cartoons left out. Starscreams ambition to overtake Decepticon reign seems all forgotten in the new movie remakes. Starscream was the coolest, with a voice that could anger any mom with the right volume adjustment 7 in the morning.

ok i never seen the cartoon that is ranked number 1 but i have seen 2,3,4,and 5. Blackstar is way better than Heman in my opinion. Transformers definitely awesome and same can be said for Thundercats. Where is Voltron i mean come on that is hands down number 1 or at least Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or GI Joe those are the best. Overall great vid.
