This was an amazing video. It fills my heart with pride to live in a country where we can remember OUR soldiers who fight for OUR freedom in such a way. Every fallen soldier should be remembered this way, it's the least we can do! I live outside of Camp Lejeune, where it shows this young man was stationed! I spent some time with him in Afghanistan. We got our vehicles stuck and Hefner was the one working the hardest trying to dig them out with an Etool out in the middle of this field. I want to make a positive comment about the citizens of Texas. Where else can you see citizens give of their time to pay one last tribute to one they may not ever have known? The heart of patriotism is alive and kicking in Smalltown, USA.

I am a proud member of the Texas PGR, and my eyes get darn misty when I ride through these small towns in Texas escorting a service member on their final ride. The love and respect that is shown by these folks remind me why our nation is so great.

Dear God....I'm bawling all over again...I was there for this welcoming home and I must say it was the most moving and difficult thing...I can only imagine how hard it was for the family. I used to work with his mom, and while I never knew Shawn, I wanted to be there to honor him as he honored us and our country. I unfortunately only made it to the graveside services, but it was done in the most respectful and honorable way that I have ever seen. It left an imprint on my heart.

The people of Hico did what came naturally. I was told by the Patriot Guard Riders heroes in the cities were not receiving the same tributes. I am issuing a challenge to the people in the metroplex  to get involved and make sure EVERY one of the fallen be honored. With very little effort we were able to show our gratitude to him and his family from the second he hit Texas soil all the way home. Surly with your population the same can be done. Step up!!

It was an emotional moment standing on the streets of Hico that day and hearing a hush come over the large crowd as the procession came over the hill. Watching this video and seeing the entire journey brought greater emotion and seeing our community united as one on that street gives me such pride to live here. I did not know Shawn personally but he will forever me in my heart. Thank you for the sacrifice you made to protect our country.
