@tricon909 First of all, this is an air canada flight ac016. second, there were 2 meals (dinner&brunch) + midflight snacks. third, departed hkg at 3pm
i think a ride on the air canada 777 to from london to toronto is a great entertainment ride in itself. Thats one of my faviroute parts of the holiday. i love the scenary once the aircraft gets into north eastern canada im guessing this part of the flight is over newfoundland & labrador. its that part of the flight where you fly over hundreds of miles of lakes. anybody no where that bit is on the route they fly
Sometimes you enjoy flying then there are times you feel differently. My first flight to toronto i had a really enjoyable feeling but the second time i had mixed emotions. Flying can have a strange effect on you. It weird and hard to explain
i always like the high speed exit from the runway onto the taxiway when arriving at toronto airport. VEry efficient airport. I like the steep descents on the 777 when you feel the gravity effects
Route to HKG is normally over one of the 4 polar routes that more or less straddle the north pole, then proceed southbound over Siberia, Mongolia and China. They might have to reroute a little farther south for excessive solar activity or extreme cold temperatures effecting fuel freeze.
The route back might be the reverse, but most of the time comes over Japan and the Pacific to take advantage of the jetstream.
I'm pretty sure that they fly the streamline way when flying from hk to toronto, that would be over the pacific. However, if your going from toronto to hk, the polar route would be a better choice, well at least, if your in charge of the plane i guesse
I thought you're supposed to turn off all electronic devices during take-off and landing. Or is that for take-off only?
I've always wondered if they actually have any affect on the flight equipment unless you're operating a microwave oven with it's lid open or something.
No it's both. Obviously, this wasn't in accordance with the rules - which is fine. I can't imagine cameras interfering with any of the communications with the plane.
That can't be the 401...the 401 is right beside the airport so that's probably the 407/410 interchange as it looks like the flight is coming in from the west.
hah really? i'm headin to yyz from sin via hkg soon, and i'll be taking ac16 for the hkg-yyz hop, i was actually dreadin the 15 hours. heard pretty negative comments from ppl regarding ac's service(fa's being robotic etc), ah it seems their ife is their saviour!
that was hard landing
