@fred561g It is VST plugin, it can be used in any program that supports MIDI and VSTi, Mixcraft is only one of this programs, other examples are ACID Pro, Cubase, GarageBand, FL Studio, Pro Tools. For more info go to wiki and search for VST and DAW
Im 14 seconds in and already im having problems. I dont have a folder that has all the sounds and effects so there isnt a place to put the magic8bit file. What do i do?
@Sollembum78x I got it figured out. I'm relatively new to using any kind of computer program outside of the normal ones. lately ive been just getting MIDI files and putting them into GX SCC to make songs 8 bit because the Mixcraft 5 8 bit looked way to hard in the long run. Im not sure how you made that giant 8 bit song at the end there (looks like you had some spare time to fill and thats how you did it) so i just used the other program.
@wyngz258 Mixcraft is actually really simple program, and it's easy to create songs in it, coz it has all the tools needed and interface is user-friendly. And you can use it to exactly CREATE songs, not only convert already existing ones. I made that song by writing midi tracks, within the program, this song is pretty simple though, I'll upload a few others 8 bit songs I made, and you can watch some of my songs on my channel, not 8 bit but made in same way :)
Can you please help im trying to look for Plugins for mixcraft but i cant find them anywhere im looking for guitar effects specifically fuzz and lo-fi
@Singleattackfucker Yes, I can send you torrent files by email to couple of good effects - Guitar Rig 4, GR 5, and ApmliTube 3 - these have best guitar effects, also RealLPC and RealStrat - good virtual electric guitars to use with amplifiers. Well if you want these write me your email in message so I can send you torrents.
@petervsthechicken Yes. It works the same way as any VST instrument work, for example piano, so for it to work you will need to use this plugin, some host application that supports VST instruments (Mixcraft, FL Studio etc.) and your keyboard as midi contoller.
So, is it possible to use tabs on this program? I'd like to try this so I can better make 8-bit versions of songs I know but I'd like to have more control over the sound I produce.
@Sollembum78x Thank you. But it's only a plug-in right? I might sound a little silly asking but what is the main program I'll need to have before I can actually use it?
@HyperThermus Any audio editor that supports VSTi plugin format, some of such programs are: Cakewalk Sonar, FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, Sound Forge, ACID Pro. I use Acoustica Mixcraft 5 as the simpliest in usage and as strong as others in power and functions, program, and advise you to try that out too, it's perfect for beginners and also good for professionals. It's not free but you can download demo and I will send you file to register it for free by email if you want.
@dmld96 Well yes, you can't do it that easy. You can recreate desired song using this 8-bit plugin, or you can get somewhere instrumental of that song in midi format and then open it in any application which supports MIDI and VSTi (Mixcraft, FL Studio, Sonar, Cubase etc.) and change original midi instruments to 8-bit plugin (with settings it up to fit the song).
@Patacorow This plugin creates same sounds that 8 bit processor from NES console creates, nothing more, so to make 8 bit song this plugin is enough, and to get various sounds including different drums it's enough to play with settings, for example for kick drum you can use TriangleShape with low short sounds, NoiseShape can make Snare and HiHats (and with agjusted Release - Cymbals). If you want to add some better not 8bit drums I advice Addictive Drums or Drumatic3 plugins.
I love this Tod, I love Xiahtod...and the choreography is unique, makes this Tod even more unique!! Magnificent!

@wyngz258 Which DAW are you using? You do realize that this is plugin, not a separate program, so on it can't work it's own?
