Katie Couric fails to note that Earhart was not heading for Ireland -- she was on her way to Paris, France. Oooops....
She may have "broke through" some barriers for women, but she ended-up taking a dive from 12,000 feet into the Pacific. She failed to learn to operate her radio and had a drunk as a navigator. Stuff to admire...

I've seen pretty convincing evidence that she was captured and killed by the japs. What incentive would they have to cover that up? We've already had Pearl Harbor.

(1) Since the first aeroplane was invented by Wright Brother in 1903, what does flying means to our society and the world?
(2) What is aviation and flying means to female?
(3) Why do ladies love flying, including me?

The interesting thing about this take on Earhart; Katie Couric, lead anchor for CBS fails to even address the incredible ordeal CBS underwent in the 1960s while investigating Amelia Earhart's 1937 disappearance. Then, Admiral Nimitz admitted to CBS Radio's Fred Goerner (who spent five years doing investigative research about it) how it was quietly "known and documented in Washington" that "Earhart went down in the Marshall Isles & was picked up by Japan." CBS dropped it by the 1970s.
