  • Great

  • Really? You guys should check out Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta and Dennis Chambers. Now having said that, I do like Omar, he is a very good drummer but this is not drumming at it's best.

  • O Sting eh bem esperto, chama um tremendo time destes e leva a fama......cala a boca sting....KKK.....OMAR HAKIM !!!!!!

  • Omar Hakim and Darryl Jones with a little Branford Marsalis and the late great Kenny Kirkland what a fantastic combo this was. Credit to Sting for assembling this band and writing this song. Simply amazing.

  • Good stuff.

  • Still awesome.

  • unbelievable.

  • This video is truely inspiring....I have seen this video a million times/I still love it.

  • The Police recorded this song first. It's on their box set, "Message In A Box." The song was recorded for the soundtrack of the movie "Brimstone and Treacle," starring none other than Sting himself. Omar was a major influence on this drummer.

  • simply an amazing drummer!! he plays to the song not just drum beats.

  • SO TRUE!!! Wonderful Skill Omar Has!

  • Man the bass player was right there with Omar..Handing down the bottom sooo serious....

  • True...

  • Great drumming, but look how stoned Sting looks at 1:49 ..1:55 haha! damn!

  • Needle point accurate!

  • Fucking king Omar!!!

  • wow, finally some good fuckin drumming on youtube...that was amazing, it pumped me up

  • This vid always makes me want to play...

  • the more i see omar, the more i adore

  • Proof of God. Watch his balance, beyond amazing.

Saw this tour in Omaha, 1985. Omar's solo that night is the benchmark for me. No drummer since (Micky Hart, Kodo, D.H. Peligro, Jack DeJohnette, Neil Peart, etc.) has come close.

Props to Sting who was humble enough to surround himself with players much better than him on first solo album. Top ten aesthetic experience of my life. Thank you Omar.

  • Omar blew everybody away with this solo - especially the drummers in NYC.

  • I swear, 1:30 til the end....orgasmic.

  • ...and you KNOW something special is going on when Kenny smiles and Munch (Daryl Jones) starts digging in hard! (1:48-:54)

  • Is that bass player, because he was lacing this whole song..I felt him like electricution..

  • You have Sting up front and also check out the bass player at about 1:49. Definitely the bass is amazing!

  • Oh My!

  • Absolutely beautiful syncopations over three...and Branford's pointilistic figures over top of the beginning part...pure genius!

  • now thats drumming right there!!!

  • Whenever I need to get hyped up before a gig,I gotta watch this..

  • That ladies and gents for was the legendary Omar Hakim!

  • I mean this is just awesome..First of all STING is a BEAST amongest other BEAST on the stage with him..The whole flo is just incredible..I would love to solo to this myself on the drums...

  • that's the jimi hendix of drummeing!! :O

  • is in france, bring on the night dvd,i burn for you the police is more better

  • That is amazing drumming absolutely amazing

  • If I may, go see the Dennis Chambers solo taken from the Mike Stern Paris Concert DVD. It will blow you away !

  • I mean soo much is going on,you could get lost in the timing it self..never knew Omar played for Sting..

  • Sting (vocals, guitar); Branford Marsalis (soprano & tenor saxophones); Kenny Kirkland (piano, keyboards); Darrel Jones (bass); Omar Hakim (drums); Dolette McDonald (background vocals). Recorded live in 1985 in Paris.

  • Is there footage you can buy from this event and plez tell me where...

  • You can buy this on DVD. It is called sting: bring on the night.

  • Thanx bro, even tho its been almost a year(lol)..Much appreciated tho..

  • Thank you for the line up, I was wondering who the drummer was.!

  • I realy love this concert. Do someone know which concert is?

  • i was on the first solo concert here in hamburg germany... omar hakim nearly killed my brain with his drumsolo.... must be about 10 minutes...

  • what a monster

  • Still one of the best Sting songs musically. Jsut sit back and enjoy.

  • Do you know what is the place and year of this concert? its amazing

  • Don't know date and place but the song "I Burn for You" is on Sting's 1985 'Bring on the Night' documentary/album. Maybe look for info about Dream of the Blue Turtles
