i don't understand your point.. Lebanese people no longer speak phoenician, they speak their own dialect of arabic that reflects their unique heritage, similar to how palestinians and syrians once all spoke aramaic, now they mostly speak a regional dialect of arabic that has elements leftover from a thousand years ago. the nile isn't just a river in egypt, so i say don't be ashamed of who you are
@samantha6108 The sad part my dear is that a lot of Lebanese are ashaimed of who they are; they don't have a common identity; Marounites identify with Phoenicians for some reason, Sunnis identify with Arabs for some reason, Shiites identify with Persians; Some identify with the france, others with america, others with palistine, yet others with Saudi arabia and some with Iran... And sadly, noone identify with each other... The point of this video is that we all have a common root...
Hebrew, arab, and "Phonecian" have very closely related languages, they're all semetic. Infact Arabic is closer to hebrew than "Phonecian" is. Some times when hebrews talk i can understand some of there words but when i hear a Phonecian talking i just can't understand a thing.
It´s a historical language replaced 2500 years ago by another historical language (aramean). It´s ancient history, it´s got nothing to do with ethnic tensions and the desire for ethnic distinction created in modern days Lebanon.
Lebanon-Phoenicia is the Giant of Histories and the land of God. Lebanese language is so MUCH Older than Arabic, therefore Not to be mixed or compared!
It comes from ancient Arameic and the Phoenician Alphabet, and NOT from the non-ancient Arabic language which also came from the Arameic and lebanese! ALL Western and Arabic Alphabets originated from THE Phoenician Alphabet!!!
Lebanon-Phoenicia was /is the Place of birth of the Incomparable Phoenicians. Lebanese have ALWAYS been Phoenicians and Mediterraneans ONLY, we can NEVER be Arabs, Syrians, Palestinians, Africans or Europeans.. Not even through falsification of evidence gene manipulation or genocide!!!!
The Phoenician alphabet was developed over a thousand years before the Arabic alphabet... In fact, the alphabets of the world are all derived from Phoenician!
and the phoenician alphabet is derived from the egyptian hieroglyphics so all the abjads and and the alphabets in the middle east and in Europe are derived from hieroglyphes! but the phoenicians had the originality of conveting them into an alphabet!
ALL Western and Arabic Alphabets originated from THE Phoenician Alphabet except for Chinese Alphabet!!! Lebanese language is so MUCH Older than Arabic, therefore Not to be mixed or compared!
It comes from ancient Arameic and the Phoenician Alphabet, and NOT from the non-ancient Arabic language which also came from the Arameic and lebanese.
you are absolutely right! I hope more lebanese become active to revive the phoenician langauge and heritage and maybe some pagan traditions, we must honour our ancestors and their works :)
at DaLynxfighta I know a little bit about the socorta language , it is a semitic language which has grammars like akkadian language, and sound changes like phoenician language and a vocabular of almost all semitic languages it is just so because they it was isolated, but that doesnt mean all middle eastern people who spoke semitic came form socorta, which is related to mehri and shahri
How do you figure? Its the first time I heard that actually, considering that they have mediterainian traits, and almost nothing in common with the people of Yemen?
No there is still a big difference, even between old hebrew and old phoenician, the word for to be is in canaanite(phoenician-punic-canaanite)= kan and the verb "make" is "fa3al", atum=you, kum=your, and the phoenician use another futur they used present "anok 3arish ekol "= I wish/will eat, the waw-constraction is very seldom in the phoenician language, also full shift form p>>f in phoenician, no b>>v, no k>>kh,and almost short a>>o and long a>>u, I am lebanese and I know my real mothertongue!:)
LOL, well, what he said was actually true.. there are many many little differences. Just like there are many little differences between German and English, or French ans Spanish, or Arabic and Latin LOL... But the fact that the two civilizations lived side by side definitly means they influenced each other... Ancient Hebrew was written using phoenician letters... DOn't get upset at people saying silly things. Part of what is today Isreal was once part of what was then Phoenicia...
The hebrews invaded canaan and before they invaded it they spoke aramaic , and slowly their language became a mix between canaanite(old phoenician) and aramaic, they took many things from the canaanites, the canaanites and hebrews lived never under war although bible says vice versa , the canaanites were not so much influenced by the hebrews the hebrews got canaanitized but some things of their were kept aramaic.
@acev1per But I think those "called" phoenician letters were hebrew letters, why? because phoencian were'nt in Egypt but Hebrews were, and as everybody knows the so called "phoenician alphabet" is derived from Egyptian Hieroglyphes, so I think it's a mistake to attribute this alphabet to Phoenician, it was rather made by levite(Levi Tribe) who were Egyptians close to moses, So this so called Phoenician Alphabet, was made by some Egyptians scribes who became later Hebrews. Greeting from morocco
Do we need another Israel in the region? What is Israel rational for existence? Isn't that they lived on this land a bezillion years ago? It's what's wrong with all nationalism! whether it is Arabic nationalism, Syrian nationalism, Zionist nationalism and... Phoenician nationalism. They are all the same, and they are all evil.
If you read the Torah, you will see that the war between the Israelies (Jews) and the Palistinians (Philistines) has been going on for over 4000 years. Countries come and go, but the hate has been there since the existance of these two nations. This predates Islam and it predates christianity. I don't think anything can cure these people from their hate... Phoenicia to me is not a nation; the phoenician nation is long gone, phoenicia is a spirit, and this can never die, not on my watch at least.
Dude, I come from the great city of Antaradus, one of the great Phoenician cities that once was in a GREAT civilization, but that is all my point -- ancient! It is dead long time ago, and even latest researches showed that about 20% of people living on the eastern Mediterranean coast have some genes linked to the original Phoenicians, some but not pure Phoenician genetics. Many civilizations came to live on the same land of Phoenicia and races were mixed.
Tartus is a beautiful city. And yes, it is a Great phoenician city. I don't distingish between lebanese, syrian or palistinian cities of phoenician past, I don't like today's man made borders, the people of Tartus in Syria are the same as the people of Jbail in Lebanon and the people of Caesarea is what is now Isreal. Something ties us all together, and its not Arabism, we are all one people. This bond does not exist between me an someone is saudi arabia... I hope you know what I mean...
I agree with you that Arabism doesn't tie us. If you are talking about starting a new secular, socially liberal and tolerant nation for all people on that land, regardless of their religion and ethnicity, then count me in. But if you are talking about a nation like the Lebanese Forces advocates for, then I will pass!
Please don't turn your back on our great heratiage just because a group of people decided they have exclusive rights to something no man can ever own. People who claim that only they are Phoenician do not know what being phoenician really means. This intollerance of the other is not a cannanite quality, it is an imported quality which I pray does not leave an unwashable stain on our history. Hate cannot cure hate, just like darness cannot remove darkness.
Lebanon, really, get over it. All those countries have been Arabized -- Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine etc.. We get it, we're not Arabs, we only speak Arabic just like Walloonians are not French and Australian are not English... But we must go on.. Really, this has become really boring. Get over it.
Nothing I don't know already. I already know the Phoenician alphabet, and I already know this make-believe Phoenicianism which ultra-right winged Lebanese 'elite' invented to isolate Lebanese people.
I'm sorry I waisted ur time... Perhaps when i make future videos, you will find them more educational, and less offensive. It just makes me sad that the truth and freedom of thought is offensive to anyone. Phoenicianism should never be confused for hate of Arabs or hate of any kind. Just liek saying the Isralies are killing inocent palistinians is not equivilent to anti-semitism or Nazism, although in western media, no-one dares to say this truth, just like in lebanon we can't say the truth.
Hey dude this is very silly, you write learn to write Phoenician when in your tags you have Arab and Arabic, what do Arabs have to do with Phoenicians. They are entirely different matters.
One man's fool, is another man's prophet, and visa-versa. Some times, like Akhwat Shanii, the villiage idiot is the wisest one of all, other times, he's just an idiot... But definitly, those who's only words are insults, and their only arguments are hate are not worth dignifying with a reply... But I will reply just the same, as you have bothered to introduce yourself in full and state your case in such details...
How can I be an arab if I (like most Lebs, Palistinians, Eygyptians, morocans... ect) don't look like one? Thats like you saying a black person could is probably a white person???? How idiotic is that? Arabs come form the Arabic peninsula, they have distinct features, which no other so called "Arabs" have...
The Levant has a lot of Haplogroup E1b1b (Y-DNA) which originated in the Horn of Afrika ,Ethiopians, Somalis, Eritreans,Berber,Jews and a good portion of Leb. Christians belong to E1b1b within there subgroups. Physical appearance changes over time, due to admixture over centuries. But generally speaking Haplogroup E is concentrated in Africa, for instance Bantu groups also show high frequencies of E1b1b.
its funny how you belive that religion and cultre have a secific DNA... Lebanese Cristians and muslims share the same DNA, and when my muslim friend became a christian, his DNA actually stayed the same :)
I totally agree with everything you've said about the Phoenicians -- thanks so much for sharing this very important "Phoenician" video with the world :)
shou? LOL, speak lebanese :P I don't understand what 2ittikh means? Please if you want to insult someone at least make sence :-) take care :) and thanks for the smile :P
I wrote it intentionally, to tell you that languages doesn't make you who you are, your actions does. No one asks you to say youre Arab, but please think my friend. Think about what is essential and what is not, what is nonsense and what is not!!! Lebanon is going to be empty soon if we keep thinking like that. Empty from Arabs and Phoenicians.
I can tell you're a very smart guy, except I don't understand why you think this video will harm us... Lebanon is going though a major identity crisis; some lebanese think their american, others think their persian, others think their french, some even think they're israeli... what I'm saying is that Lebanese are Lebanese, nothing else, and our identity is in our blood, we don't need to look to forign powers to tell us who we are... But I know not eveyone likes what I am saying...
Interesting comments here. So Lebanese are Phoenicians (yes they sure are.). But who are the ancestors of Phoenicians?. Sure, they didn't fall from sky, nor did history start from them. Phoenicians ancestors were Amorites, who trace their ancestors all the way to the Arabian Peninsula. Check out the channel of 'HistoryCentral', his videos are accurate and deals with ancestry of Semites.
Well, where did the amorites come from? The fact is, phonician cities are amongst the oldest cities in the world, but many agree that the phoenicians did not originate in phoenicia, however, they where called the Sea People, and many accounts belived they came from a far away land across the sea. Now anyone can say what they like, what remains a fact is that the phoenicians where like no other group of their time, and they left a mark on the world which noone can deny...
The Amorites came from the Arabian Plate (Western side). More specificially Hejaz (this is very well recorded) which is in Present day Saudi Arabia (The name Saudi Arabia didn't exist before 1900). There are some historians that have claimed the Phoenicians and Philistines were originally Europeans who came as 'Sea People', but those myth have long been refuted.
This is verified by both Historical records as well as modern DNA tests have proven Lebanese & West Saudi Arabian (Hejaz Region) are very close to each other, proving a common ancestry.
If you don't believe, you can research the facts yourself. The channel 'HistoryCentral' has some of these related videos, check him out. Thanks,
Actually, Historical records AND DNA tests disprove what you are saying... Please check your sources... Lebanon till today still has nomadic tribes we call Arabs, they might be related these people, But that doesn't mean any of these are phoenicians... There is no common ansestry I'm afraid, and after looking at the videos of 'HistoryCentral' I think there is more personal opinions being present rather than facts... I'm sorry, you really need better sources...
The Amorites and the Canaanite Phoenicians were not the same people! There is an Old testiment story that mentions that they were related to the Canaanites is but according to experienced historians, it was ruled to be unfounded fiction. The fact is, byblos (Jbail) itself, one of the greatest phoenician cities was founded about 8000 years ago (5000BC) before the Amorites existed... and it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world... that alone disporves what your saying...
I'm sure you ARE an arab, I can see that very clearly by the way you replied to JanSobieskii, and I'm sure you will show it more clearly by your reply to this comment... But you cannot speak for everyone, especially not those who arabs do not consider them as arabs, but as Arabized people... Arabs are nomadic people of the Arab peninsula, and if you are Lebanese, you know that we still call the nomads in Lebanon "el-3arab" meaning ARABS... Why do you call them that?
and i know what "el 3arab" means.....he called OUR race stinky....and i do speak for everyone when i say your attempt in stupid and futile...but what ever....who am i to argue with a phoenician?
I know why a lot of Lebanese don't identify with their past, & it is mostly the result of ignorant people who claim they r more phoenician than others or stupid racist things like that. Please understand, you don't have to be lebanese to be a phoneician, it is the ideology and history of these people that I love and identify with, not the fact that we shared a common home land. I think anyone can be proud of being anything, arab or phoenician, but we make our own identity, no one else. Peace.
Just to comment on this; I think JanSobieskii was mistaking in insulting Arabs in general, but I understand some of his anger because in the name of Arabism Lebanon has suffered more than any nation should ever have to; And I also understand your anger at his comments because you obviously take great pride in your Arab identity. The fact is, you are both Lebanese, and we really need to treat each other better. If we don't respect each other, how do we expect others to respect us?
But since the Arabs were last prominent influence on Lebanon(turks didnt do much to change that) it is the most dominant characteristic of present day Lebanon. Its just the result of history. No point of changing it. And as i said b4 , we shouldnt deny anything from our history especialy the beginning.(Phoenicia).And maybe , if we'll have a serious gov. in the future, maybe we can explore that history and educate it to our children.
Furthermore, there was a recent DNA study to define how much really of the Lebanese are Phoencians. It was broadcasted on LBC/kalam el nass. It turned out to be that only 28% of the Lebanese are Phoenicans and the rest are from all over the place. So the Lebanese are really a mis poeple and the history of Lebanon mixes a lot of cultures, empires, religions and habits. And we csn't deny any of them.
Arabism screwed us big time. But its not b/c of Arabism but beacuse of the corrupt leaders. If the Arabs can encourage education and most importantly unit(for real), we would be a Superpower in this world, we would be calling the shots, we would be in control of our destiny. We wouldnt be in the mess , we are in now!
Arabism was forced on us, but so was many other empires, and it shows in our habits, culture, we cant deny of them....it would be denying a part of our identity. One example of what i was talking about earlier is Briggite Gabriel, who makes a living by bashing Muslims and Arabs , even Christians. She actualy said that Christians in Lebanon banned the old testament out of hate for the Jews.(And i know thats a lie,ive studied the Bible at my uni. including the Old Testament.
And ususally denying the Arab history is influenced by the hate of Muslims b/c of the majority of Arabs are Mulsism and b/c the original language of the Koran is Arabic. And usually when i speak over the net with poeple saying they r Phoenician not Arab, usually are racists against Muslims.
Im not saying u should deny the Phoenician history , on the contrary , we should be proud of it, we are. However, denying the long history of Arabism in Lebanon, even if it was forced on us, is denying a part of our identity. Same rule goes to the Turkish hisory, whar would the LEbanese be without the Argileh :D...or any other part of history that came through Lebanon. Again, it would be a crime to deny the Phoenician history, but no one is, the question is denying the Arab history.
I mean what would u gain from saying ur a Phoenician,i just don't get it! Ur just gonna increase the segregation and seperation between the Lebanese. To put it simply, just say ur Lebanese. B/c the Lebanese are a mix of poeple between Arabs, Europeans, genuine
Phoenicians, Turks and others...and our culture and habits portray that.
Phoenicians are not Lebanese only; Parts of Syria, Palistine (israel), Tunisia, and many other NON lebanese countires had phonician influence and blood; I don't think you can place borders on what phoenicians are; but its sad that some try to tag a religion on them, when in fact they where polytheists in origin. Arabisim did not come to lebanon 1400 years ago, Arabism came to lebanon with Abdel Nassir, before that we where lebanese and proud to be of phoenician heratage!
You ask me what I gain if I say I'm phoenician? It would be a crime to deny it! I'm Lebanese, but you cannot convince me that I am an Arab, and in recent times there has been a huge push to force an arab identity on Lebanon, and I am standing up against that lie! I hope you will stop mixing religion with race as many lebanese do and join me in fighting for an independent lebanon free from all negative outside influence such as Arabism which has brought us nothing but trouble and pain so far...
Ok great, so its not influenced by religion. But u can't say Arabism came to Lebanon only in Nasser's time. It was glorified and took a revolutionary way at his time, but wasn't introduced. Lebanon has a more or less Arabic habits traditions going back to 1400 yrs ago. One is the Arabic language.
ya zalame 3al ta3asob....u want me believe that u made this b/c ur a proud Phoenecian and accepting being an Arab is like being a slave! Its happened a freakin 1400 yrs ago.... The Phoenicaian history has been destroyed long b4 Arabs. I bet u wouldnt mind being part of the Bitzantium empire! It not about being Arab or being Phoencian . It simply raciusm agaisnt Muslims! Pure and simple
I think if you read my other comments, or anything I have ever said on youtube, you would clearly see that I am in no way predudice against muslims, infact, I have studied Islam in depth and I always defend islam when I hear ignorant remarks about it. Arabs are not muslims, and one of the greatest arab tribes (Ghassani) was a Christian tribe. And the Bizantian Emperor tried to get rid of christians from lebanon because he made a deal with the arab khalifa... so I think you misunderstand me...
Thanks my friend, your videos are very good too,I can not just watch how aramaens, jews use and write their language, I want that my people have their language and their font back too, thats right I come from lebanon,I am just born in germany,I can not speak rarely arabic and lebanese, but therefore here in germany you get much information about phoenician if you can speak german. By the way my family name is Kanaan, so it is a must for me to know about my ancestors, the canaanites.ASHSHALEMU ALIKUM
Thanks acev1per for your reply!I think the gh in arabic doesnt exist in phoenician, the phoenician letter named ayn is the thought letter to be used for gh too but when you compar between hebrew which is very related we wil see there is no gh,the phoenicians lost the thsound 900 bc,the p to f shift happened between 4til3centbc,in punic but in phoenician too, phoenicians stil wrote p they pronounced it like f,late phoinscr in greek letters written shows f,last phoinscription in lebanon was 200 ad.
There is definitly a difference between gh and ain, but in arabic, the difference in limited to a dot :) so that might be why the related the two sounds, not too sure. I love your videos by the way, and I'm very excited to see people still interested in the language and I would recomend your videos for those interested :) I hope you keep it up!
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO acev1per! It is very interesting for me, because I can speak phoenican a little bit, I learned it by myself and I am a fan of phoenicans, I have a question : Would it be possible to write the lebanese language with phoenician letters?
Sometimes I think that lebanese language is the result when the phoenician learned arabic , they could not adopt the full language and the exact pronounciation of arabic, so the grammar and the pronaunciation and many words are still phoenician. That's why I think it would be possible to wirte lebanese language with the phoenician alphabeth.
You are right, the lebanese language is a mix of many languages, and one of them is phoenician. in fact, if you speak a little phoenician, you would know that a lot of the words are very similar, if not identical... I use english letters to write arabic, so I'm sure you can find a way to use phoenician to write lebanese, though you have to make some modifications :)
Well, if you can pronounce it, then you can write it; however there are some letter sounds we have that don't exist in phoenician, so you can always combine (although that is not proper), such as ph which makes the sound f ect... also like arabic, there are no real vowels in phoenican, so this makes it a little challenging, but i use phoenician to write english, so you shouldn't have a problem :)
If you look into the eyes of a phoenician, you will know they are different from the eyes of an Arab... You cannot deny that, And when Allah created the world, he created us as Nations so that we can get to know one another, not so that we can kill each other and make everyone an Arab... It would be an insult to God if we denyed the identity he created in us, and it would be an insult to our ancestors as well... You can call youself whatever you like, but I have more respect for my ancestors!

If you want me to stop saying I am Phoenician, then would you rather I say I am an Arab? What makes a muslim a muslim? Is it his blood? His Arabism? or is it his belief in God's messanger? For me, what makes me phoenician is not my blood, (I didnt do a DNA test), its not my appearance, and its not my language; What makes me phoenician is my love and respect for those great people and what they believed in (which is what I believe in), what they gave the world and what their core values where!
I don't have any power to tell anybody what to do , so you can regard yourself the way you wish! it is your decission. The point is Phoenitions had died out! so we syrians, lebanese and palestiniens can say that we are from phoenition roots in a part, but we can not say we are phoenitions ,coz it is not reallistic. Phoenicia doesn't exist any more. Well if you don't want to be an arab just do it it is your business but you shouldn't say that Phoenicia is existing. Don't make ppl laugh at us
My faith in being phoenician is just like one's faith in being muslim/christian; You can choose to laugh at me, or redicule my opinion, but I can defend my faith in being phoenician with the same enthusiasm and emosion as one would defend their faith in a prophet. You cannot get a black man to deny his coulor and say he is white; and you cannot get a muslim to deny his faith and say he is a jew, unless ofcourse you put their necks at the end of a sword... Tell me, what makes the lebanese arabs?
All those religions are existing and hundreds of millions of ppl practise them. I can see Lebanon Syria Palastine, even Israel on the map, but I can't see a thing called Phoenica !maybe on history maps only. What makes lebanese arabs? The history, the culture and the destiny. Only a part of lebanese christians doesn't want to belong to arabs, but who cares? That's why they always look for an origin to belong to ! We don't need anybody between us who feel shame to belong to us! allah ma3 dawalibkon
LOL, "Phoenician" is not even a phoenician term, its greek; in fact, the "Phoenicians" called themselves "Canaanites"... What is funny is that it that in lebanon, it is the majority of Sunni people who are more directly related to the phoenicians, and not the majority of Christians... But its sad that people go around denying who they really are and relate themselves more to the Arabs, when if the Turks had their way we would all be turks now, or persians... But burning tires makes us arabs?
I was just pointing out to you that the word "Phoenician" is actualy a greek word and not a Phoenician word; these are the same people, but i was writing in english, and the english way to say "canaaniyeh" is derived from the Greek term for these people which is Phoenician... You sound like you know some history, so you should know this...? No? A little knowleage is a very dangerous thing, so you should drink fully from the fountain of knowleage before you laugh at things ;)
Tell me; you say that the Phoenicians are not extinct? Please; be soo kind and tell me WHY they are extinct today when they where a striving sociaty which had several Popes? (Did you even know there where phoenician popes?) I know the answer, but I would like to hear how you sugar coat it :)
The phoenician people did not all go into hiding; most of them where given a choise (Convert or Die); and a lot converted; The Arabs where too lazy to go into the mountains, but if they wheren't; then there probably would be no Marounites today (i am not a marounite by the way).
barbarians and berber pll are two different thingsالبرابرة هي صفة تطلق على أي مجموعة بشرية تتصرف بشكل وحشي أما شعب البربر فهو الشعب الذي كان يسكن شمال أفريقيا قبل وصول الفتح الإسلامي ولغتهم هي الأمازغية وهم يكونون 40% من سكان المغرب ونسبة من سكان تونس والجزائر وليبيا
Why would the phoenicians want to take revenge? Who was this "Sulta al-Markaziyah" that was SOOO evil, that the phoenicians where persecuted and forced to hide? Could they be Arabs? And now you want me to say I am an arab when these invaders came and persecuted my people to extinction? ... No I am not that low to accept such barbaric people as my own after they whiped out my ancestors....
Actually, I think the Barbar are the Barbarians; the reason we use "Barbarian" as a negative term is derived from the Roman times, who saw these nomadic people as savages; The barbar where very fierce wariors and a very proud people who refused to be integrated, and many people feared them because they would raid Roman villages and where very agressive; and I didnt think you where saying anything bad, I understood what you where saying... Barbar like Phoenician in a Greek term by the way...
You seam like a person who loves history; and I don't really know much about you, but I can say we have something in common; love of history and love of fairouz :). It is my love of history which brought me to my conclusion of rejecting the Arab identity rather than my hate of the destruction caused to my country in the name of Arabism and the Arab cause. The Arab identity was taught to my in school, and forced upon me through politics; yet I do not identify with the rest of the arabs, do you?

The Greeks first adopted the use of the word "Barbarian" to refer to non-Greeks who according to them were not as sophisticated. The Phoenician alphabet is incredible though, I wish there was a way to be able to find some sort of keyboard input system so that I can type Phoenician on the computer. Have you found anything like that?
Actually, I have found Phoenician font wich you can download, and if you have a "Tablet PC" you can actually convert your entire windows to phoenician instead of english... however if you can't read it, it will be very hard to go back to your english settings!!! :) The font I found though wasn't that great... I would recomend download a font making software and make your own, that way you can relate the letters to their english counterpart;
I've found a font making program and I've used it to make a font out of an artificial alphabet I created, the problem was, however, that I couldn't find a way to actually USE it to type something. The actual alphabet itself is very similar to Phoenician and is based around the same philosophy, even though it resembles a runic alphabet a bit more. Oh and it's written from left to right.
You go back to our origins and you say tht we are Phoenician. But why did you stop there? The phoenicians clearly travelled to Lebanon themselves. Its an endless cycle!!
My point is that being Lebanese-Arab, Lebanese-Ottoman, Lebanese-Persian, Lebanese-Macedonian, Armenian, Byzantine etc.
Fact is we all equally share true Lebanese blood, regardless of when we got to Lebanon in ancient times!! We should be celebrating our ancestral diversity!!!
Its actually not an endless cycle at all; for over 7 thousand years the pheoenicians where the same people, and not untill recently we have been made to believe they disapeared then all the sudden they became arabs? noone knows the origins of the phoenicians appart from appearing in lebanon about 7000 years ago, so there you go, Cycle ended... ;)
I thought you knew what scientists have discovered: that all life originated in Africa? You could do better than to falsely claim Pheonicians grew out of the ground like flowers and settled there for over 15000 years (thats how long humans have existed on the earth, not merely 7000)
I don't believe everything science tells me, eventhough i am a scientist... And I never falsly claimed phoeniciens where a type of herb... what i said was very clear "No One knows where they came from"; just like "no One knows how the universe was created"... Sure, you can tell me about some big bang theory, but untill it becomes fact, I will stick to what is actually has some solid evidence... I'm not here to argue with anyone, I hope you enjoyed my video...
I look nothing like the phoenicians, infact, I might not even have phoenician blood in me, but if you knew anything about phoenicians, you would know that this doesn't matter. Phoenicians where not racist like most races who think their blood is better than that of others; in fact they didn't mind mixing with others such as turks, armenians, lybians, tunisians, greeks, romans... ect... Basically anyone could be a phoenician, but the phoenicians could not be anything but phoenician...
If thats the case, then I think we've found common ground :)
My issue is with many Lebanese today (Christians, in particular) who claim that only they are the true Phoenicians and that that renders Armenian Christians, Arabs, and all of Lebanons other ethnicities as not Phoenician at all. In effect, I argued your point of view lol, which wasnt exactly clear untill up to now. In other words, you do not have to look Phoenician in order to be one!
I'm glad we found common ground and that you enjoyed my video. I agree with you also, those who claim they are more phoenician than others in my opinion have no idea what pheonicians are and in effect do not have the phoenician spirit, so you should just ignore them :) Being anyone who would be proud to call themselves a phoenician is one, even if they are not from Libanon (Carthaga the greatest phoenician city is not in lebanon). I feel people like you discribed actually make others hate us...
Phoenicia consisted of parts of lebanon today, parts of syria and parts of what used to be palistine and is israel now; I personally dont believe in borders, and neither did the phoenicians; look at carthaga; one of the greatest phoenician cities! Phoenicians used to believe in many God, and they where amungst the first christians; but that doesnt mean that a christian lebanese is more likely to be a phoenician; religion has nothing to do with the phoenician identity...
Thats a great question! If you have some european blood; are you european? or if you have some phoenician blood, or arabic blood does that change your identity? My answer is that the phoenician spirit does not lie in our blood alone, but it dances amungst the Great Cedars, and in the hearts of those who are proud of their forfathers. Phoenician is not just a race; its an identity; its a way of life! Anyone, even the europeans can be phoenicians, but the phoenicians cannot be anything else!
blackpower is hard headed and confused and knows nothing of what hes talking about...the continent of africa isn't even peaceful now so how could he think that they were back then... oh i know it's whitey and the arab conspiracy lol. blackpower my brother, you are dreaming
Well, anyone who has ever lived in Lebanon today would know that its impossible for the natives to be Black; unless of course, our climate has changed soo much over the past few thousand years... Just like White people couldn't have originated in Sudan, and Black people couldn't have originated in Britain; It makes no sence that Black people could originate in Lebanon's climate (Unless one thinks Color and Climate are not related...)
Hummm; I've heard that insult before; but I'm not sure I understand what it means... Could you elaborate more on your insult? Like describe what exactly it means... it sounds to me like your saying "Lick but dont get bad teeth?" Anyways; I'm sure you know what it means... so please enlighten me...
Brigitte Gabriel is Black, I saw Lebanese people you think i am stupid most of you guys look Arab and some look Turkish & European. The original Canaanites were Black, all these wars in lebanon killed off the majority of our people.
Brigitte Gabriel is a surviving example of a Black Phoenician native standing up to the invaders. Most of you guys hate her because she is a Black Maronite native.
20,000 years ago J (Y-DNA) was still one group and it didn't even exist anywhere near modern Lebanon it was still in the desert!
Your Arab invader govt will never release the DNA results of these Pre-Semitic natives because they were not Arabids & they didn't have a Semitic culture. They were typical Peaceful Beautiful Black Canaanite natives!
The Phoenician blood is Black (Hamitic), like the proud Phoenician nationalist Brigitte Gabriel. If you are a true Black Phoenician survivor big ups to you brother!
NO, why is there little relationship with our phoenician blood to the Africans or Arabs, tell me WHY???????? phoenicians are semites and NOT black, but some of us have tanned skin like me
You keep calling Brigitte Gabriel black... Have she ever said she was black? I think if you ask her about it, she will either laugh in your face, or just ignore you (thinking you are mentally challenged)... Her facial features are 100% Lebanese, and her skin color is brown because she lives in Sunny California! Please sir, if you want to hate non-blacks, and arabs, go ahead; just don't bring your hate here; and if you truly believe what you are saying, then try to convince me, not insult me...
HAPLOGROUP (J) Y-DNA marker of most Middle Eastern people is closely related ONLY to HAPLOGROUP I (M170) Y-DNA (i.e. found only in European population).
BLACK PEOPLE (AFRICANS) GENETIC MARKERS ARE:
1. HAPLOGROUP A (M91) Y-DNA
2. HAPLOGROUP B (M60) Y-DNA
These black African markers are NOT RELATED to the genetic markers of the WHITE PHOENICIANS OF LEBANON... nor found anywhere in the LEVANT or CANAAN-LEBANON.

Well, the good thing about the Phoenicians is that they didnt have any of our current political movments ;). I don't think religion or politics dictates who your ansestors or heratage is. And I know a lot of Christians who are proud to say they are Arabs, and a lot of Muslims who are proud to be Phoenicians... But also, I think there is a huge effort to whipe out our Phoenician identity and replace it with an Arab one; which I totally reject; irrespective of politics or religion...
yes it is arabism, and their imperialistic ways, which distorted history and led to the bastardization of our constitution BUT the DNA tests proved that we were fighting for the truth, and regardless of religion as you said, our true identity should not be forgotten, indeed some of us are arabs BUT not all, that is a myth
The natives are Black they are not Semites, I know most you lebanese Arab goons look Arab & want to steal the Black man identity!
65% of the modern DNA is Arabid in Lebanon J1 & J2
The original DNA is buried under the ground your invader govt and European genetic testers are hiding the truth because they don't want to admit that Phoenicia was Black (Hamitic) not Arab (Semitic)
First of all; I got a message where you call me a Racist Lebanese Liar... Just for your information; Being Black doesn't mean you can't be racist; and me being non black doesnt automatically make me a racist. The Lowest form of racism, is one where you go around accusing everyone of being racist! And you are the most racist person I have ever encountered on Youtube! Second of all; the government never conducted any mass DNA testing; this was an individual effort; Third, We are not Arabs!
Racist is when you deny the true identity of the ancient BLACK Phoenicians, modern Lebanese are proven genetically to be mainly Arabid Semites with some Tuaranid, Indid and Europid invaders DNA. (quoting stormfront)
The original BLACK Phoenician DNA is buried under the ground, you never want to admit it! Thats why you are a racist.
We have many tombs of phoenician kings; both in Lebanon and in countries like Turkey and Tunisia; Some have had DNA testing done on them; and none suggested what you are saying; They where neither Arabs NOR Black... Hannibal, one of the greatest generals of all time, was NOT black; however, a huge part of his army was! He however was of Phoenician decent; and it is very silly to even consider that he or any other phoenicians where black, when you have NO proof of it what so ever!

We are a very unique people hehehe; But you are right; we should be united, at least in defining our roots :) The thing is; our roots reflect our current behavious; The phoenicians where a people that absorbed other cultures; They took a little from eveyone; and they gave a little to everyone. This video series was started not be to political; but actually to teach people the phoenician alphablet; but somewhere along the line, I mixed politics... Either way; I hope this was somewhat helpfull!
This video has nothing to do with palistinians and and or Syrians; I did not mention palistine, syria, or the 30 year occupation of lebanon and destruction of lebanon by the syrians and palistinians. Instead, this video goes back to something which existed over 8000 years ago (our roots), and back then, I don't think Syria or Lebanon existed although Jbail and Damascus did. So please before you talk about hate, ask your country to release our inocent men from your jails!
What made you think I'm Quwat? Saaid Akil shares the same views as me, and this was before the Quwat even existed. As for hating you; You can't expect me to like you when you come here calling me stupid and insult me and my culture; I wont argure with you concerning our heratiage and culture, you are obviously uneducated enough to know the difference between and Arab and and Arabized; But no, we are not arabs, and no we do not hate the arabs, we happen to like them, but we are not of them!
It seams you havnt heard of the DNA testing that was done a few years ago that proved that most of the current Lebanese (Christians and Muslims) share a unique Gene as their phoenician ansestors, and this gene is not found in Eypt, Syria, or Saudi Arabia; So this has nothing to do with religion; The blood that flows through our vains is not the same as that which flows through those of the Arabs; and up untill a few hundred years ago; Arabism did not exist in lebanon; so go get enlightened...
Proud to be a Jewish Israel descendent of canaani forced to accept Judaism!

i don't understand your point.. Lebanese people no longer speak phoenician, they speak their own dialect of arabic that reflects their unique heritage, similar to how palestinians and syrians once all spoke aramaic, now they mostly speak a regional dialect of arabic that has elements leftover from a thousand years ago. the nile isn't just a river in egypt, so i say don't be ashamed of who you are
samantha6108 1 year ago

TrueLebanese1 2 years ago 3
Lebanon-Phoenicia was /is the Place of birth of the Incomparable Phoenicians. Lebanese have ALWAYS been Phoenicians and Mediterraneans ONLY, we can NEVER be Arabs, Syrians, Palestinians, Africans or Europeans.. Not even through falsification of evidence gene manipulation or genocide!!!!

Was the Phoenician alphabet created before the arabic alphabet?
ShadowmoonWoW 2 years ago 3
The Phoenician alphabet was developed over a thousand years before the Arabic alphabet... In fact, the alphabets of the world are all derived from Phoenician!
acev1per 2 years ago 2
and the phoenician alphabet is derived from the egyptian hieroglyphics so all the abjads and and the alphabets in the middle east and in Europe are derived from hieroglyphes! but the phoenicians had the originality of conveting them into an alphabet!

at DaLynxfighta I know a little bit about the socorta language , it is a semitic language which has grammars like akkadian language, and sound changes like phoenician language and a vocabular of almost all semitic languages it is just so because they it was isolated, but that doesnt mean all middle eastern people who spoke semitic came form socorta, which is related to mehri and shahri

Hebrew is the same language as Phoenician (although that there are many little difference).
xXxXTigerManXxXx 2 years ago
No there is still a big difference, even between old hebrew and old phoenician, the word for to be is in canaanite(phoenician-punic-canaanite)= kan and the verb "make" is "fa3al", atum=you, kum=your, and the phoenician use another futur they used present "anok 3arish ekol "= I wish/will eat, the waw-constraction is very seldom in the phoenician language, also full shift form p>>f in phoenician, no b>>v, no k>>kh,and almost short a>>o and long a>>u, I am lebanese and I know my real mothertongue!:)
Malkibaal 2 years ago
LOL, well, what he said was actually true.. there are many many little differences. Just like there are many little differences between German and English, or French ans Spanish, or Arabic and Latin LOL... But the fact that the two civilizations lived side by side definitly means they influenced each other... Ancient Hebrew was written using phoenician letters... DOn't get upset at people saying silly things. Part of what is today Isreal was once part of what was then Phoenicia...
acev1per 2 years ago
The hebrews invaded canaan and before they invaded it they spoke aramaic , and slowly their language became a mix between canaanite(old phoenician) and aramaic, they took many things from the canaanites, the canaanites and hebrews lived never under war although bible says vice versa , the canaanites were not so much influenced by the hebrews the hebrews got canaanitized but some things of their were kept aramaic.
Malkibaal 2 years ago

REMcrazy 2 years ago
If you read the Torah, you will see that the war between the Israelies (Jews) and the Palistinians (Philistines) has been going on for over 4000 years. Countries come and go, but the hate has been there since the existance of these two nations. This predates Islam and it predates christianity. I don't think anything can cure these people from their hate... Phoenicia to me is not a nation; the phoenician nation is long gone, phoenicia is a spirit, and this can never die, not on my watch at least.
acev1per 2 years ago

I hope you know what I mean...
acev1per 2 years ago

Empty from Arabs and Phoenicians.
mikaareb 2 years ago
I can tell you're a very smart guy, except I don't understand why you think this video will harm us... Lebanon is going though a major identity crisis; some lebanese think their american, others think their persian, others think their french, some even think they're israeli... what I'm saying is that Lebanese are Lebanese, nothing else, and our identity is in our blood, we don't need to look to forign powers to tell us who we are... But I know not eveyone likes what I am saying...
acev1per 2 years ago
Interesting comments here. So Lebanese are Phoenicians (yes they sure are.). But who are the ancestors of Phoenicians?. Sure, they didn't fall from sky, nor did history start from them. Phoenicians ancestors were Amorites, who trace their ancestors all the way to the Arabian Peninsula. Check out the channel of 'HistoryCentral', his videos are accurate and deals with ancestry of Semites.
itsalif 3 years ago
Well, where did the amorites come from? The fact is, phonician cities are amongst the oldest cities in the world, but many agree that the phoenicians did not originate in phoenicia, however, they where called the Sea People, and many accounts belived they came from a far away land across the sea. Now anyone can say what they like, what remains a fact is that the phoenicians where like no other group of their time, and they left a mark on the world which noone can deny...
acev1per 3 years ago
The Amorites came from the Arabian Plate (Western side). More specificially Hejaz (this is very well recorded) which is in Present day Saudi Arabia (The name Saudi Arabia didn't exist before 1900). There are some historians that have claimed the Phoenicians and Philistines were originally Europeans who came as 'Sea People', but those myth have long been refuted.
itsalif 2 years ago
This is verified by both Historical records as well as modern DNA tests have proven Lebanese & West Saudi Arabian (Hejaz Region) are very close to each other, proving a common ancestry.
If you don't believe, you can research the facts yourself. The channel 'HistoryCentral' has some of these related videos, check him out. Thanks,
itsalif 2 years ago
Actually, Historical records AND DNA tests disprove what you are saying... Please check your sources... Lebanon till today still has nomadic tribes we call Arabs, they might be related these people, But that doesn't mean any of these are phoenicians... There is no common ansestry I'm afraid, and after looking at the videos of 'HistoryCentral' I think there is more personal opinions being present rather than facts... I'm sorry, you really need better sources...
acev1per 2 years ago
The Amorites and the Canaanite Phoenicians were not the same people! There is an Old testiment story that mentions that they were related to the Canaanites is but according to experienced historians, it was ruled to be unfounded fiction. The fact is, byblos (Jbail) itself, one of the greatest phoenician cities was founded about 8000 years ago (5000BC) before the Amorites existed... and it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world... that alone disporves what your saying...

WE ARE ARAB'S
anice1834lyf 3 years ago
I'm sure you ARE an arab, I can see that very clearly by the way you replied to JanSobieskii, and I'm sure you will show it more clearly by your reply to this comment... But you cannot speak for everyone, especially not those who arabs do not consider them as arabs, but as Arabized people... Arabs are nomadic people of the Arab peninsula, and if you are Lebanese, you know that we still call the nomads in Lebanon "el-3arab" meaning ARABS... Why do you call them that?
acev1per 3 years ago
sure whatever....i am lebanese
and i know what "el 3arab" means.....he called OUR race stinky....and i do speak for everyone when i say your attempt in stupid and futile...but what ever....who am i to argue with a phoenician?
anice1834lyf 3 years ago
I know why a lot of Lebanese don't identify with their past, & it is mostly the result of ignorant people who claim they r more phoenician than others or stupid racist things like that. Please understand, you don't have to be lebanese to be a phoneician, it is the ideology and history of these people that I love and identify with, not the fact that we shared a common home land. I think anyone can be proud of being anything, arab or phoenician, but we make our own identity, no one else. Peace.
acev1per 3 years ago
Real Lebanese are Phoenician and not stinky arabs.
JanSobieskii 3 years ago 2
your mother is the only one stinky here you fucking fucker
anice1834lyf 3 years ago
Just to comment on this; I think JanSobieskii was mistaking in insulting Arabs in general, but I understand some of his anger because in the name of Arabism Lebanon has suffered more than any nation should ever have to; And I also understand your anger at his comments because you obviously take great pride in your Arab identity. The fact is, you are both Lebanese, and we really need to treat each other better. If we don't respect each other, how do we expect others to respect us?
acev1per 3 years ago
But since the Arabs were last prominent influence on Lebanon(turks didnt do much to change that) it is the most dominant characteristic of present day Lebanon. Its just the result of history. No point of changing it. And as i said b4 , we shouldnt deny anything from our history especialy the beginning.(Phoenicia).And maybe , if we'll have a serious gov. in the future, maybe we can explore that history and educate it to our children.
bomber1986 3 years ago
Furthermore, there was a recent DNA study to define how much really of the Lebanese are Phoencians. It was broadcasted on LBC/kalam el nass. It turned out to be that only 28% of the Lebanese are Phoenicans and the rest are from all over the place. So the Lebanese are really a mis poeple and the history of Lebanon mixes a lot of cultures, empires, religions and habits. And we csn't deny any of them.
bomber1986 3 years ago
Arabism screwed us big time. But its not b/c of Arabism but beacuse of the corrupt leaders. If the Arabs can encourage education and most importantly unit(for real), we would be a Superpower in this world, we would be calling the shots, we would be in control of our destiny. We wouldnt be in the mess , we are in now!
bomber1986 3 years ago
Arabism was forced on us, but so was many other empires, and it shows in our habits, culture, we cant deny of them....it would be denying a part of our identity. One example of what i was talking about earlier is Briggite Gabriel, who makes a living by bashing Muslims and Arabs , even Christians. She actualy said that Christians in Lebanon banned the old testament out of hate for the Jews.(And i know thats a lie,ive studied the Bible at my uni. including the Old Testament.
bomber1986 3 years ago
And ususally denying the Arab history is influenced by the hate of Muslims b/c of the majority of Arabs are Mulsism and b/c the original language of the Koran is Arabic. And usually when i speak over the net with poeple saying they r Phoenician not Arab, usually are racists against Muslims.
bomber1986 3 years ago
Im not saying u should deny the Phoenician history , on the contrary , we should be proud of it, we are. However, denying the long history of Arabism in Lebanon, even if it was forced on us, is denying a part of our identity. Same rule goes to the Turkish hisory, whar would the LEbanese be without the Argileh :D...or any other part of history that came through Lebanon. Again, it would be a crime to deny the Phoenician history, but no one is, the question is denying the Arab history.
bomber1986 3 years ago
I mean what would u gain from saying ur a Phoenician,i just don't get it! Ur just gonna increase the segregation and seperation between the Lebanese. To put it simply, just say ur Lebanese. B/c the Lebanese are a mix of poeple between Arabs, Europeans, genuine
Phoenicians, Turks and others...and our culture and habits portray that.
bomber1986 3 years ago
Phoenicians are not Lebanese only; Parts of Syria, Palistine (israel), Tunisia, and many other NON lebanese countires had phonician influence and blood; I don't think you can place borders on what phoenicians are; but its sad that some try to tag a religion on them, when in fact they where polytheists in origin. Arabisim did not come to lebanon 1400 years ago, Arabism came to lebanon with Abdel Nassir, before that we where lebanese and proud to be of phoenician heratage!
acev1per 3 years ago
You ask me what I gain if I say I'm phoenician? It would be a crime to deny it! I'm Lebanese, but you cannot convince me that I am an Arab, and in recent times there has been a huge push to force an arab identity on Lebanon, and I am standing up against that lie! I hope you will stop mixing religion with race as many lebanese do and join me in fighting for an independent lebanon free from all negative outside influence such as Arabism which has brought us nothing but trouble and pain so far...
acev1per 3 years ago
Ok great, so its not influenced by religion. But u can't say Arabism came to Lebanon only in Nasser's time. It was glorified and took a revolutionary way at his time, but wasn't introduced. Lebanon has a more or less Arabic habits traditions going back to 1400 yrs ago. One is the Arabic language.
bomber1986 3 years ago
ya zalame 3al ta3asob....u want me believe that u made this b/c ur a proud Phoenecian and accepting being an Arab is like being a slave! Pure and simple
bomber1986 3 years ago
I think if you read my other comments, or anything I have ever said on youtube, you would clearly see that I am in no way predudice against muslims, infact, I have studied Islam in depth and I always defend islam when I hear ignorant remarks about it. Arabs are not muslims, and one of the greatest arab tribes (Ghassani) was a Christian tribe. And the Bizantian Emperor tried to get rid of christians from lebanon because he made a deal with the arab khalifa... so I think you misunderstand me...

Malkibaal 3 years ago
There is definitly a difference between gh and ain, but in arabic, the difference in limited to a dot :) so that might be why the related the two sounds, not too sure. I love your videos by the way, and I'm very excited to see people still interested in the language and I would recomend your videos for those interested :) I hope you keep it up!

THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO acev1per! It is very interesting for me, because I can speak phoenican a little bit, I learned it by myself and I am a fan of phoenicans, I have a question : Would it be possible to write the lebanese language with phoenician letters?
Malkibaal 3 years ago
Sometimes I think that lebanese language is the result when the phoenician learned arabic , they could not adopt the full language and the exact pronounciation of arabic, so the grammar and the pronaunciation and many words are still phoenician. That's why I think it would be possible to wirte lebanese language with the phoenician alphabeth.
Malkibaal 3 years ago
You are right, the lebanese language is a mix of many languages, and one of them is phoenician. in fact, if you speak a little phoenician, you would know that a lot of the words are very similar, if not identical... I use english letters to write arabic, so I'm sure you can find a way to use phoenician to write lebanese, though you have to make some modifications :)
acev1per 3 years ago
Well, if you can pronounce it, then you can write it; however there are some letter sounds we have that don't exist in phoenician, so you can always combine (although that is not proper), such as ph which makes the sound f ect... also like arabic, there are no real vowels in phoenican, so this makes it a little challenging, but i use phoenician to write english, so you shouldn't have a problem :)

You cannot deny that, And when Allah created the world, he created us as Nations so that we can get to know one another, not so that we can kill each other and make everyone an Arab...

Actually, I think the Barbar are the Barbarians; the reason we use "Barbarian" as a negative term is derived from the Roman times, who saw these nomadic people as savages; The barbar where very fierce wariors and a very proud people who refused to be integrated, and many people feared them because they would raid Roman villages and where very agressive; and I didnt think you where saying anything bad, I understood what you where saying... The Greeks first adopted the use of the word "Barbarian" to refer to non-Greeks who according to them were not as sophisticated. The Phoenician alphabet is incredible though, I wish there was a way to be able to find some sort of keyboard input system so that I can type Phoenician on the computer. Have you found anything like that?
sourmelee 3 years ago
Actually, I have found Phoenician font wich you can download, and if you have a "Tablet PC" you can actually convert your entire windows to phoenician instead of english... however if you can't read it, it will be very hard to go back to your english settings!!! :) The font I found though wasn't that great... I would recomend download a font making software and make your own, that way you can relate the letters to their english counterpart;
good luck and all the best!!!
acev1per 3 years ago
I've found a font making program and I've used it to make a font out of an artificial alphabet I created, the problem was, however, that I couldn't find a way to actually USE it to type something. The actual alphabet itself is very similar to Phoenician and is based around the same philosophy, even though it resembles a runic alphabet a bit more. Oh and it's written from left to right.
sourmelee 3 years ago
It is surprising how you contradict yourself.
We should be celebrating our ancestral diversity!!!
hbac7 3 years ago
Its actually not an endless cycle at all; for over 7 thousand years the pheoenicians where the same people, and not untill recently we have been made to believe they disapeared then all the sudden they became arabs? noone knows the origins of the phoenicians appart from appearing in lebanon about 7000 years ago, so there you go, Cycle ended... ;)
acev1per 3 years ago
I thought you knew what scientists have discovered: that all life originated in Africa? You could do better than to falsely claim Pheonicians grew out of the ground like flowers and settled there for over 15000 years (thats how long humans have existed on the earth, not merely 7000)
hbac7 3 years ago
I don't believe everything science tells me, eventhough i am a scientist... And I never falsly claimed phoeniciens where a type of herb... what i said was very clear "No One knows where they came from"; just like "no One knows how the universe was created"... Sure, you can tell me about some big bang theory, but untill it becomes fact, I will stick to what is actually has some solid evidence... I'm not here to argue with anyone, I hope you enjoyed my video...
acev1per 3 years ago
What makes you so sure you're genuinely Phoenician? And are you saying that Lebanese Armenians, Arabs, Turks etc. aren't Lebanese at all?
hbac7 3 years ago
I look nothing like the phoenicians, infact, I might not even have phoenician blood in me, but if you knew anything about phoenicians, you would know that this doesn't matter. Phoenicians where not racist like most races who think their blood is better than that of others; in fact they didn't mind mixing with others such as turks, armenians, lybians, tunisians, greeks, romans... ect... Basically anyone could be a phoenician, but the phoenicians could not be anything but phoenician...
acev1per 3 years ago
If thats the case, then I think we've found common ground :)
My issue is with many Lebanese today (Christians, in particular) who claim that only they are the true Phoenicians and that that renders Armenian Christians, Arabs, and all of Lebanons other ethnicities as not Phoenician at all. In effect, I argued your point of view lol, which wasnt exactly clear untill up to now. In other words, you do not have to look Phoenician in order to be one!
Peace
And I really did enjoy the video

Anyone, even the europeans can be phoenicians, but the phoenicians cannot be anything else!

blackpower is hard headed and confused and knows nothing of what hes talking about...the continent of africa isn't even peaceful now so how could he think that they were back then... oh i know it's whitey and the arab conspiracy lol. blackpower my brother, you are dreaming
mougleee 3 years ago

Blackpower718 3 years ago
You a racist Lebanese liar!
Today 65% of Lebanese DNA is
ARABID J Y-DNA that has two branches:
J1 Bedouinid sub-group
J2 Syrid sub-group
20,000 years ago J (Y-DNA) was still one group and it didn't even exist anywhere near modern Lebanon it was still in the desert!
Your Arab invader govt will never release the DNA results of these Pre-Semitic natives because they were not Arabids & they didn't have a Semitic culture. They were typical Peaceful Beautiful Black Canaanite natives!
Blackpower718 3 years ago
hahahaha, thats why our blood has very little relationship with the arab one you fool!!!!!!
charbelee 3 years ago
The Phoenician blood is Black (Hamitic), like the proud Phoenician nationalist Brigitte Gabriel. If you are a true Black Phoenician survivor big ups to you brother!
Blackpower718 3 years ago
NO, why is there little relationship with our phoenician blood to the Africans or Arabs, tell me WHY???????? phoenicians are semites and NOT black, but some of us have tanned skin like me
charbelee 3 years ago
You keep calling Brigitte Gabriel black... Have she ever said she was black? I think if you ask her about it, she will either laugh in your face, or just ignore you (thinking you are mentally challenged)... Her facial features are 100% Lebanese, and her skin color is brown because she lives in Sunny California! Please sir, if you want to hate non-blacks, and arabs, go ahead; just don't bring your hate here; and if you truly believe what you are saying, then try to convince me, not insult me...

ANCIENT PHOENICIANS' GENETIC MARKER IS:
HAPLOGROUP J2 (M172) Y-DNA

But also, I think there is a huge effort to whipe out our Phoenician identity and replace it with an Arab one; which I totally reject; irrespective of politics or religion...
acev1per 3 years ago
yes it is arabism, and their imperialistic ways, which distorted history and led to the bastardization of our constitution BUT the DNA tests proved that we were fighting for the truth, and regardless of religion as you said, our true identity should not be forgotten, indeed some of us are arabs BUT not all, that is a myth
charbelee 3 years ago 2
The natives are Black they are not Semites, I know most you lebanese Arab goons look Arab & want to steal the Black man identity!
65% of the modern DNA is Arabid in Lebanon J1 & J2
The original DNA is buried under the ground your invader govt and European genetic testers are hiding the truth because they don't want to admit that Phoenicia was Black (Hamitic) not Arab (Semitic)
Blackpower718 3 years ago
First of all; I got a message where you call me a Racist Lebanese Liar... Just for your information; Being Black doesn't mean you can't be racist; and me being non black doesnt automatically make me a racist. The Lowest form of racism, is one where you go around accusing everyone of being racist! And you are the most racist person I have ever encountered on Youtube! Second of all; the government never conducted any mass DNA testing; this was an individual effort; Third, We are not Arabs!
acev1per 3 years ago
Racist is when you deny the true identity of the ancient BLACK Phoenicians, modern Lebanese are proven genetically to be mainly Arabid Semites with some Tuaranid, Indid and Europid invaders DNA. (quoting stormfront)
The original BLACK Phoenician DNA is buried under the ground, you never want to admit it! Thats why you are a racist.
Blackpower718 3 years ago

This is an Nother Stupid Video Made by an quwat rat Who tries to steal lebanese culture !!
i understand them why they do this cuz they hate palestinians and us syrians !!
Tamer309 3 years ago
This video has nothing to do with palistinians and and or Syrians; I did not mention palistine, syria, or the 30 year occupation of lebanon and destruction of lebanon by the syrians and palistinians. Instead, this video goes back to something which existed over 8000 years ago (our roots), and back then, I don't think Syria or Lebanon existed although Jbail and Damascus did. So please before you talk about hate, ask your country to release our inocent men from your jails!
acev1per 3 years ago
Are Your Stupid ?lol I sayd That You Made This Video cuz You are an quwat rat who tries to steal lebanese culture !!
just imagine in lebanon without arab culture lol I know very well That You quwat rats do not consider yourselfs as arabs CUZ YOU HATE US !!
Tamer309 3 years ago
What made you think I'm Quwat? Saaid Akil shares the same views as me, and this was before the Quwat even existed. As for hating you; You can't expect me to like you when you come here calling me stupid and insult me and my culture; I wont argure with you concerning our heratiage and culture, you are obviously uneducated enough to know the difference between and Arab and and Arabized; But no, we are not arabs, and no we do not hate the arabs, we happen to like them, but we are not of them!
acev1per 3 years ago
This Problem is Not only in Lebanon But in Egypt also ...In Lebanon Maronites deny there arab heritage and in Egypt Copts also deny it..
Because they are Christians and they don`t want to have the same origin like the rest !!
You call me uneducated lol just look at you cliamg to be an reall life Phoenician ha ha.
Tamer309 3 years ago
It seams you havnt heard of the DNA testing that was done a few years ago that proved that most of the current Lebanese (Christians and Muslims) share a unique Gene as their phoenician ansestors, and this gene is not found in Eypt, Syria, or Saudi Arabia; So this has nothing to do with religion; The blood that flows through our vains is not the same as that which flows through those of the Arabs; and up untill a few hundred years ago; Arabism did not exist in lebanon; so go get enlightened...
