  • i just tried this.. only to discover my laser didn't have a screw. fml

  • any way how without drilling????

  • Where do you get your lasers from ebay? like what was the sellers name?

  • Can you measure from the screw end to the center of the hole? That would keep it looking good

  • i just received my hulk 100mw from dragon lasers but it cant burn anything i have tried different batteries warming the laser up and using a magnifying glass any idea please help thanks

  • Easiest way to decrease the lifetime....

  • yeah bcuz holes in your drill are better than some scratches. But nice video. BTW i hear that you can break it by taking the module out so maybe, this way is better for your laser. besides you could always plug it up with something. Either way, im not modding my laser until it comes close to dying, which i presume will be in no time at al

  • check out my channel!

  • I can't find the pot at all! I've already drilled about 5 holes. :(

  • So scratching it makes it look like shit but drilling holes in it doesn't ?

  • i wanted to do this with mine but the module is glued. I had to drill a hole...

  • can it burn any thing?

  • so does it burn anything or not?

  • yea because a hole looks alot better then a few scratchs

  • Thanks for the vid can you please put the measurements from the resistor to the tip and how far from the button to resistor horizontal way

  • I didn't want to scratch it up and make it look bad so I drilled three holes in the back

  • bro this cracks me up you worried about couple scratch marks. so you drilled a hole lol... awesome

i took pliers and pulled the tip out (did not squeeze hard though, just pulled horizontally and twisted at the same time) with rag and left no marks. then i measured the distance between the screw and where it would be on the pen cylinder then marked it it was (slightly behind button) opposite side of pen then drilled. i had nothing to loose mine was dim. now it is as good as new!!

  • man how can i mod my calculator to make it divide by cero..??????

  • um... why is erveryones voice echoing in every vid i watch!? what is this computer coming to?

  • Nice I'm ordering a burning laser rite now

  • Is it a screw that u turn?

  • Oh, does this also work with Red lazers or just green?

  • @IPWNFORCHEESE

It works for any laser which contains a resistor(pot) like in the video

  • Thanks so much buddy it worked great for me. i used your video to make sure i only drilled a small hole lol not like your mess no offense. now i can tweek mine without taking my case off an on. THANKS SO MUCH

  • so its on the opposite side from the button, right up towards the front?

  • you are my king!

  • Haha. Is that a trashbag used for a trashcan?

  • I did it with a red one and it works just as good but hold on to it or it will snap in two and set on fire. Don't ask

  • @Dogdocrap im asking muahhhahhahhahhha muahaha muahahahahaghaaaaaaa (cough)

  • What does pot mod mean?

  • @MrBradyiscool im pretty sure it means potentiometer modification

  • Dani California FTW !!!!

  • oh and what kind of drill did you use?

  • cant you just geta new diode if the original one burns out?

  • is that tea???

  • Hey man nice vid... i just wanted to ask that if i tighten the screw will my laser diode burn because im going to do this with a 0.5mw as the label said on it.... please respond im cant wait to try it out since there are good comments :D

    (email if needed - leo.silva.is@live.co.uk

  • Thanks so much for telling me I have that exact laser

  • What kind of drill

  • dude you can go through the button

  • Does a brighter beam come at the cost of reduced life?

  • @JamezTrizzang Yes It Can Because Of How Much Power Is Being Put Through The Resistor, Mine Still Works Perfectly Fine Hasn't Burned Out Yet Though, Unless You Have A Really Powerful Laser I'm Sure That A Less (mw) Laser Can Withstand It Where If It Was A High Powered Laser It Would More Then Likely Burn Out The Diode.

  • @specialoperation how do u drill a hole in it

  • @JamezTrizzang yep

  • @BloodSweatSmile Yes Most Of The Time It Will

  • I noted 2 things : #1 My chinease true 50mw green laser that i got for 18$ is as bright as your 95mw

#2 My potmoded 5mw laser is brighter than both lasers and it can light matches.

  • @terorvlad Well Maybe Your 5mw Laser And Your 50mw Laser Where Custom Made, Cuz Most 5mw Lasers Are Built That Way, There Can Be Slight Differences But Also The Resistor - (Pot) Could Be Different And If You Have A Resistor That Will Let More Power In Then It Will Be Brighter Although Your Diode Will More Then Likely Burn Out In A Short Time.

  • I just tried it out and it really worked, I've been popping balloons all day! Thanks!

  • pot moding your laser will shorthen your diod's life

  • can someone PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT MODDING A RED LASER PEN 5mw?

  • @TheJeremiah948 if you bought it at a store then you cant because the resistor is not variable :P

  • OH NO

    MY LASER IS KO

  • I have ruined 2 lasers trying to drill through the metal. After seeing your video I know where to drill. The problem is that I put to much pressure in on the drill and when it breaks through the metal it hit the inside. Hard to use the right amount of pressure. Wish I could see you make the hole.

  • @Handlegrip Use a press drill...

  • i have the same black and silver one and i cant take the diode out. i guess drilling is the answer

  • o well im getting my 100mw from wicked lasers soon :)

  • @josht97 Ya I Have A 95mw As Seen In This Video That I Still Use And Show, It Was $200 Bucks But Lasers Always Just Stun People At How Powerful They Can Be And Shining It Up In The Sky Just Seeing The Laser Beam Is Always My Favorite.

  • i wanna do it but i dont think my dad wud let me :(

  • hey thanks for the vid... man first time owner with a ebay laser first time success try with making it bright as hell

  • if you change the battery with the laser be normal again?

  • thanks,i will do that later.

  • "it scratches the black and makes it look crappy". You drilled a fucking hole in it!!!!!

  • @deagle1231 Well See The Probelm Is Everyone Thinks That PRying Open The Cap is better but guess what then you have to keep prying it open to adjust the power where here adjusting the power is easy, it doesnt matter anyway a hole in a laser for more power is fine with me.

  • @deagle1231

    Haha Classic !

  • @deagle1231 hhahaahhahahahahahahahahahah thats what i was thinking hahahahaha

  • you have to take off the glue first, then take it off. And to use like cloth or something thin to prevent scratches.

  • I thought you were supposed to turn it right?!!? Or was this a mistake, i will soon see for myself anyway :)

  • @juniortore1 It Doesn't Matter Which Way You Turn The Pot, You Will Be Able To See The Brightness When You Turn The Pot.

  • @specialoperation yes, true. Either way, as long as it gets brighter :D

Just depends on the type of driver, that tells which way you turn it. I know a lot of the drivers for homemade lasers which I am making, you need to turn it to the right for more power.

  • @specialoperation

How much do you turn it, like 45°?

  • @MadnessOfMarmots Ya That Would Be About Right, You Can Keep Trying And Yoy Will Notice The Brightness Of It.

  • dam dam dam :( i bought one for 18.95$ it said it was on special!

  • love the red hot chili peppers!

  • wow i spent 12 dollars on the 5mw

  • i'd rather hace scratches than a drilled hole

  • can you do that to a red laser? o boy o boy I want one =D if not, where can I get one?? how long does it last after pot modding?

  • were do you get the lasers from.

  • @bballlash1 I Get Most Of Them From Ebay For $3-$8 a piece. You could find some for $2 with free shipping if you get lucky.

  • dani california (Y)

  • that looks very ghetto and nasty is there not a proper way of doing it by taking it apart?

  • @MrNiteryder Other then removing the cap and doing that a couple times to find out the brightness Im not sure of any other way but im sure theres other things you can do to make it even brighter, the pot is basically a resistor just controlled how much power is given to the lasers diode.

  • @specialoperation -thats cool and all will this be the same theory for a 30mw green laser?

  • Can you tell me how many millimeters from the END of the silver end cap to drill the hole? Thanks a lot! Thumbs UP!

  • @sweetescapefan From the cap its about 1 and 1/8 of an inch but I'd say your better off just going on the opposite side of the button and drilling if you hit a plastic piece then your close to the pot.

  • @specialoperation thanks

  • @sweetescapefan Instead Of A Measurement just go to the opposite side of your laser and drill it might take a couple times to drill.

  • Yeah, I broke one laser before I succeed. But you learn from your mistakes ;)

  • man no disrespect but you said you dont wanna scratch it because it looks trashy what you think the holes do lol

  • @CountryBoy425 Lol I noticed that when I finished the video, ya it looks trashy but some black electral tape will fix that atleast making it a little more classy or some black spray paint.

  • Dude I tried it with mine and it worked out better then the stupid cap part plus i like how you can change the power and watch the difference in the beam power nice video.
