A dollar not spent on wages is a dollar that is freed up for production of products and services created by the firm. As most americans, especially the working class live paycheck to paycheck, their entire checks get spent on consumption of goods and services that have already been produced. Hence, the worker's standard of living declines as prices rise on goods and services becoming more scarce even though his salary is 3x his or her parents generation of workers who lived much better.

FYI Koch Industries employs 230,000 people nation wide. Koch Industries has invested 90% of its earnings back into business growing jobs and the economy. Sense 2003 they have completed approximately $32 billion in acquisitions and investments and nearly $11 billion in capital expenditures. The good they do is extraordinary they give to Japan relief efforts, flood victims, cancer research, scholarship programs, food banks, youth programs much more. What does the union do?
