haha i really have to respect daigo! his the only one i know that doesnt lose confidence and still attacks even when his health bar is almost out. as you all know, he always has exciting comebacks.
Let's just put it this way. Both Daigo and Kindevu are AMAZING, but Daigo's better with the clutches than Kindevu is with the opening moves, hence why Daigo won.
Lucky? I've seen Daigo comeback at the end of rounds so many times, I've lost count. He plays better in the clutch with little health. I've seen it way too many times to say he's lucky!
I've watched the ending over and over again, It's more ridiculous then a high stakes set up match in boxing. Why would he decide to get so stupid in the last minute after all the hard work?
Props have to go to Kindevu this set though. In overall gameplay, I think Kindevu is just more clever than Daigo. Still, Daigo operates at like 400% when he's somewhere around 10% life.
The beast won, but I have plenty of respect for Kindevu's Rufus.
@Uohz he doesn't operate better, the other player just plays shitier. I've seen plenty of fights like this and i know that you don't play better when your closer to death. The other player sykes himself out thinking their gonna win and then they end up losing
Watching people finish matches with Ultra combo moves, especially ones that result in a pop-up is getting really boring, I'd wish they rather just duke it out. I miss the old days before they invented Super/Ultra moves and you had to fight it out and either side did'nt have to worry about being killed by one super move. But everything changed when they introducted supers in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.
Well, starting from there, Kindevu gets grabbed twice in a row. The first time was a fairly surprising grab, and the second time, Daigo caught Kindevu in the middle of an attack. Then, Daigo follows up by jumping in and jabbing, which would have hit Kindevu even if Kindevu were jabbing back, thereby canceling the spin attack. Then Daigo does 2 EX Tatsu's, the first is blocked. Then the second is very spontaneous. Who walks up and does that? All in all, Daigo just mind-gamed and won.

It don't matter what game your opponents playing, from the moment you see their going all out offensive your supposed to catch them will a combo.
It may have seemed that he just outsmarted him but imo he just thought "yeah I've done enough lets just cool off for abit" and got destroyed because of it.
Why are there so many Daigo haters? When you think of great SF players don't you instantly think of Daigo and one of his great comeback victories? Everytime I watch one of his matches I think what new combo will he do this tim!
its so interesting, whenever Daigo or Kindevu does an ultra it connects.
It doesn't whiff and it isn't blocked, whenever they do them it isn't wasted at all.
Looking through the Daigo videos you find that as well..he doesn't just throw it out when he's losing or in desperation, he only seems to do it when he knows for certain that it will connect.
not really.. I've mained Rufus for most my playtime since SFIV it consoles and I never do random ultra since it's not worth the coinflip.
Instead of throwing out a random ultra I can throw out lk - hk target combo. in the wrong situation I can get punished equally bad, but at least I don't waste the ultra unless I see them juggle.
Characters who have easily confirmable/comboable ultras shouldn't do random ultras.
I really suck too, scraping along the bottom of the G2 barrel.
rufus vs ryu is a bad match up for rufus but kindevu is just a much better and smarter player then daigo. and i know im going to get a lot of comments from all the daigo fanboys that disagree but you know its true. in my opinion the top five Japanese players are
kindevu (rufus)
shiro (abel)
momochi (akuma)
Iyo (dhalsim)
joe (c.viper)
then next would be...
kindevu (c.viper)
then daigo (ryu)
notice that i would never rank a mainstream sagat or ryu user in the top five, the win is to easy.
Yep easy to beat Kindevu and Shiro you just counterpick them with Ryu. That Daigo such a tier whoring scrub. All you have to do is do fireballs and then when they jump over you uppercut them!
did i say i can beat daigo? no so take a step back and FUCK YOUR OWN FACE! but anyway my point was that ryu is a no skill character go play with him for just a day or two you will find out there is no thing hard to learn about him or do with him.
uhh...no u go fuck your own face. Ryu is not an easy char to learn at a high level.
yes it's easy to scrub with to beat out OTHER SCRUBS but he's one of the hardest chars to learn and play. Rufus on the other hand isn't that hard to learn. just like sagat, easy to scrub with, but hard to beat top players with. learn street fighter first.
Both characters are extremly easy to learn, However rufus vs ryu is an extremly poor matchup for rufus. Btw you cant scrub with rufus like you can with sagat, trust me i'm a rufus player.
oh no...with matchups i agree that rufus is a poor matchup against ryu but the way he dumbs down the fact that daigo uses ryu is so scrubby is just a stupid comment to make.
Actually, the main stream characters are tougher to win with, because many others have fought against a Ryu and thus tricking them is a bit harder. Because a character is main stream doesn't mean it takes no skill to play them.
Daigo loses a lot more in SFIV than he did in all previous iterations of the Capcom fighting franchises. Which is what I love of about SFIV....the playing field is more even. Easier to pick up/difficult to still master.
To answer a previous question at 1:38, Ryu is crouching when Kindevu throws out Rufus's EX Messiah Kick, Opponent must be standing for it to completely hit otherwise Rufus goes over head and gets wide opened.
Only if Ryu is crouched and right next to Rufus will that happen. If Ryu is even a 1/4 step back from where he was and crounched, the full EX Messiah Kick would have hit. This also varies between different characters and their respective hitboxes.
DAMN! I was hoping Kindevu would have EX Messiah'ed at the end, that would have been enough to get through Daigo's offense (bc of invincibility frames) and take off that little bit of life left.
he probably wanted to but daigo was smart and didnt let up the offence and tried the EX hurricane kick again, which worked and he was able to finish him off.
Rufus used it as a cross up attack, so the last attack went behind Ryu. Rufus still has one kick left in the attack that hasn't gone off yet. Then again, I don't think he was expecting Daigo to pull an ultra in the clutch when he landed.

Daigo did an unexpeceted combination on his opponent which threw him offguard, Not alot of people expect 2 throws in a row. I like to mess with people head online also, i do a a vega slide a few times to let them see the pattern and then a claw, then i change that to slide, then a throw, then a slide, then a crescent and it really just throws em off sometimes.
At final round I was starting to think Daigo got raped that round. But as usual for him he made an awesome comeback. He must be very pissed off at that moment and paybacked the rape Kindevu made first :P
