Since they were challenging to you, they were even more fun to watch. I have no idea how you'll be able to take on this game with just a Lillipup though, when I struggle with a 5 Pokemon team. Theres apparently a Japanese story involving the 3 fire fighting starters. I don't know it because I'm no expert in Japanese lore, but apparently that's why there's 3 now.

well, the actual reason for minccino being overated to me is because its evolution (Cinccino) is so over powered because of a move called tail slap which is a 25 power move that can hit from 2 to 5 times, and because it is stab, it gets a higher attack bonus and if it hits from 3 to 5 times is quite easy to kill a lot of different pokemon. Also if you put the scope lens on it it can sweep really easily

Without watching the video and reading the description before starting, I must commend you immediately for your efforts, Datai. This sounds like it is going to be an exceptional playthrough of both games and I have honestly never looked more forward to a playthrough of these games than I have now. To be honest, some of the others I've been watching haven't been all that informative. Considering your play-style, I'm sure this is going to be a great series.

I'll admit, when I first saw Emboar, I thought it would be part Ground type...because pigs love to roll around in the mud.

I was hoping for Serperior to be part Dragon or Poison...I was disappointed in it being a pure Grass type.

And I thought Samurott would be part Fighting type. It surely surprised me to see that it wasn't.

But like you said, Samurott's a beast. Emboar's pretty cool too. But Serperior...it looks cool and its Dream World ability is awesome, but it sucks in general.

@TheOneOdd Had a hell of a time raising my Purrlion (Felicia) but she earned a permanent place in my party after beating the bug leader's last pokemon with a timely assist. But yeah, they are definately a pain to raise before they evolve, and even then.

Some good advice would be to catch 5 lillipups, pick up ability helps alot and you can put some in day care for better pick ups. Then replace them with hm slaves as the game goes.

Duel runs with such different dynamics for each is an interesting take on things. I don't think I've seen anything like this attempted before. I'm sure I'll be pleased with how it turns out.

I imagine things will get slightly more "Black centric" later in the run when you have more team options? There's not too much to show off that's different until you've built a team. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing how you handle the editing.

And I thought the characters in these games were supposed to be older than past characters. That's what was being advertised before the games came out. But they never seem to capitalize on that, aside from Cheren and Bianca debating on what they want to do with their lives. But everything else points to them still being 10 year olds or whatever.

Glad to see you doing White. I personally think the 5th generation is one of the best. It breathed new life into the series by introducing 150-some new Pokemon and actually managed to pull off a somewhat decent and thought provoking story. Loved that the gym leaders played more of a role this time around. Anyhow, looking forward to seeing you play through this. Sure to be a fun time.

Minccino is overrated? I can see why: Technician, Tail Slap (25 power + 1.5x Technician + 1.5x STAB = 56.25 x 2, 3, 4, or 5 for a minimum of about 100 power and a maximum about 250.) And you can also get Bullet Seed and Rock Blast. Very overpowered in that sense.

The best part of this game (I believe) is the first time you don't need any HM slaves to get through the game... ok you might use one or two but besides that HMs are completely optional. :3

It's to be expected. As Serperior, its offensive stats are equal to Oddish and Bellsprout. So Serperior has the lowest Attack and Special Attack out of all of the starters in general.

@Jackitkong There is, and I'm ignoring it. I have reasons, none of them good.

One third of the reason for the rule is so that people don't rush to do it and do a terrible job - but that's most of a concern for newbies. Another third is so that people can discover cool things about the game to show off - people have been doing that since the japanese release. The last third is to let other people play the game, but my audience is a group that has, by and large, already played and beaten it.
