Two years ago I pulled my brand new 2008 black Z06 into my driveway. Within five minutes, I had pulled the 10a exhaust fuse. The difference, as you can hear in this video, is amazing. The LS7 is one nasty-sounding mofo, and I don't know why it's daddled with such a quiet stock exhaust. BTW, my highway gas mileage is 28+, and all around I get around 22 mpg; better than my 2005 Z51 LS2, which had shorter gears. Great car. Thanks for posting this.

Seriously, if you can afford insurance alone for this car let alone a payment, who gives a fuck about fuel economy? I Don't understand why it's always a topic of debate. And for pulling a fuse out that is an amazing change =]
theres a fuse in the fusebox the when removed only keeps the dual mode exhaust open, u have to have ordered the dual mode exhaust when you bought the car.
That sounds sick with the fuse pulled. I wonder what the power difference between like a Corsa and with the fuse pulled is. If not much why upgrade to aftermarket exhaust?

Yep phantasms, Ganbala is pulling this stuff out of his ass. Opening up the exhaust on every car almost universally improves mileage, I say almost because some computers can be touchy. Add headers, an off road x-pipe, and any brand cat-back to a z06 and it WILL improve your gas mileage, not hurt it.

in high speeds it is that the difference of the system feels, is simple to understand your you are z06 and you run to 164mph your mouth is the pipe and blows and tapate the mouth (you feel pressure) then in funtion )now blows and to not tape you the mouth (the power goes away fast) maybe is a reversing vtec.
I understand to you like consumer, but it is impossible that in dyno it increases to you of being able with the dull system (impossible) clear if this of fabrica.analyz the system has 2 functions opens as to 3500rpm for displacement and closes when entering cloche and opens when removing cloche for more presure in induction more torque in reaction.

Dyno tests show it bumps up the torque and hp around 5hp . Fuel economy is certainly the same if not only the slightest change.
