  • I don't know if I feel the same way about Mekele anymore. A lot of men and women are marry people they don't love ( I don't see it being any different from prostitution) just to go overseas. Just as many as the new building, there are as many new behavioral changes. People have become so fake. Take this guy (the singer) he is singing about Mekelle, doesn't even have the True Mekelle accent. whats up with that?

  • Paid with American tax money LOL Show us some pics of the Ogaden region cuz only the Tigray region is developing because of MELES

  • @eriblood

Stupid Eritrean. Jelous much? It's not just Mekelle but Addis Ababa, Gondar, Harar, Jimma, etc are all developing.

  • @206amar1 Why should I be jealous dirty pig. We'll have the fastest growing economy of the world in 2011 dirty nikka

  • @eriblood

hahahahaha dirty dikala. Ethiopia is the second fastest growing economy in the Sub-Saharan Africa after the Republic of Congo. The GDP of Ethiopia has increased 10.3%. The World Bank released this information on January 13, 2010.

Google "Ethiopia becomes the second fastest growing economy of 2010" to see what im talking about.

  • @206amar1 It's 2011 bitch! According to The Economist we'll have 17% of economic growth. The IMF and Worldbanl owns Ethiopia, you have no clue

  • @eriblood

You little bastard, Ethiopia has always been at the top of economic growth for years. Show me proof that shows the World bank owns Ethiopia. The Economist also stated we'll increase 10%. They NEVER said Eritrea will grow 10%! Unblock me and I'll show you my sources if you want me too.

PS: Learn how to spell, it's called the "World bank" not the Worldbanl"

    hahahahahaha retard!

  • @206amar1 amharina negroid why do u talk 2 a retard, baboon? ur sources are Woyane propaganda... Ethiopia is on the 5th place but if you look at military assistance and many other kind of aid that Eth receives u might say that ur filthy country is crippled. Millions will not benefit but die

  • @eriblood

No you hamasean Eritrean son of a bitch, you get your sources from PFDJ/Shabia propaganda. The Eritrean economy is dead. The little money you guys had, you guys gave to the OLF, Al-shabab, EPPF, ONLF, TPDM as a last attempt to ovethrow Meles and take over Ethiopia for the last 4 years. Guest what?!?!?! Nothing in Ethiopia changed! Ethiopia has little interest in you Eritrean dikalas.

The fact is Ethiopia is developing sooooo much we don't care!

  • @206amar1 Go to "The Economist" website dumbass even professors from Kenya say the same thing what the IMF is saying. So it aint shabia propaganda fucktard!! We don't have to finance them cuzz Meles regime is already weak even the US is saying that. U guys have interest in our Sea/ports. Yeah nothing changed ur people are still starving and eating each others shit. Like previous Eth leaders, meles will be overthrowed

  • @eriblood

You fucking retard go to the World Bank website it says Ethiopia is one of the best in economic development. Even the Sudan Tribune says the same thing dumbass! So how is that Woyanie propaganda?! 2/3 of Eritrea is starving and not getting enough food. Look at Al-Jezeeras 2010 interview with your president Isaias. They questioned Eritrea's starvation, funding of terorism, assasination attemp, etc. Your people are running to Tigray refugee camps and drinking Ethiopian piss. hahahahaha

  • @206amar1 Ethiopian amharic generals running to Eritrea cuz there is no place for amharinas... Al jazeer English like the white journalist are all informants, wannabe BBC motherfuckers who come with a pack of lies. There is no balance just lies and stories copies from other media outlets. We dont buy that shit fuck the illuminati and ur puppet gov

  • @eriblood

There are no Ethiopians running to Eritrea. You know why? Because Isaias Afwerki has a shoot to kill policy in the border. Even though Meles Zenawi deported hundreds of thousands of Eritreans in the 1998-2000 war(which I thought was messed up), Ethiopia gladly welcomes Eritrean asylum seekers. Another thing, why do you Eritreans and your dirty Agame president(Isaias Afwerki) say everything is a "lie" or "propaganda? Oh, and Aljezeera is independent just like BBC.

  • @206amar1 No big powerful Western media outlet is independent! They are welcome cause they get paid and brainwashed at school in order to fight Shabia, they wanna create oppositions that's all. Most Eritreans inside Ethiopia were rich people with lots of property but Meles saw them as informants and nationalized all their companies

  • Where does the city of Mekelle get its water? Are there any rivers or lakes nearby the city?

  • we need more nice cities. People have to change and that will start in Addis, will have to start in smaller cities. Addis is too big too deeply intertwined in the culture of smelly mess.

  • dahlak,

yes his father is from Arab, but his mom is an Ethiopian, from Wolo and Tigray!

I was surprised when i see him on ETV speaking in Tigrigna, and he said,"I am glad to invest in my grand mother's home,Tigray..."

any ways I like him becouse he is a humble guy!

  • Sheik Mohamed Hussein Al Amoudi's grand mother is from Tigray, and he can speak flunt Tigrigna!

  • Mekele, January 25, 2008 (Mekele) - Sheik Mohamed Hussein Al Amoudi, the renowned businessman operating in Ethiopia, and the Tigray State Administration signed an accord on Thursday that enable the former to launch various investment projects in the state.

Signing the agreement, the owner of sister companies of MIDROC-Ethiopia, vowed to launch various investment projects in the region particularly in mining, leather, and leather products development sectors.

  • The investment projects due to be launched in the state include, among others, establishment of glass, sugar, and soft drinks manufacturing factories.

The renowned tycoon held discussions with senior officials of the regional government in order to share ideas on trade and investment options that exist in the region.

  • Chief of the state administration, Tsegaye Berhe said on the occasion the regional government will provide the necessary assistance to the businessman and it is ready to work together with the tycoon.

  • The regional administration granted 3,000 sq. meter of land to the tycoon meant for the construction of a residence. A street leading to the investment site of the Mekele town was also named after Sheik Mohamed Hussein Al Amoudi.

The chief inaugurated same day a billboard that shows the photograph of Sheik Mohamed Hussein Al Amoudi, as development hero of the town.

  • Meanwhile, the Tigray State Administration awarded Sheik Mohamed Hussein Al Amuodi the 'highest martyr's medal' for his exemplary deeds in expanding trade and investment in the state.

The tycoon also received a special document containing the signatures of 3,000 women and youth as a gesture for his contributions in development endeavors.

  • The tycoon pledged on the occasion to donate 50 million Birr in support of the construction of a stadium in the town. He also pledged to re-construct a road that connects Enticho town of Tigray with a locality in North Wollo Zone of the Amhara State, which is said to be the birthplace of the tycoon's mother.

  • Tgray for ever

  • I love Mekelle my beloved home!

  • I am not Tigrean but as an Ethiopian of course I am thrilled to see Mekele thrive. There is some misguided talk that a lot is being done for Mekele in the expense of others, etc... I don't buy that. I think the Mekele city admin is strong and have a modern outlook than

    others like Gonder.

  • Lamrof,

you are right, but most of the buildings in Mekelle are private! Therefore the people of Mekelle as well as Tigray is working hard in Mekelle city!

USA pass HR2003 or we cut you of..AS YOU WISH!!

Norway and Sweden -cutting 1/2 AS YOU WISH!!so they did:

Meles-"most of the growth is depended from within but if one goes their are others in line to HELP"

so it is what you do 'w' the HELP that COUNTS so some day you might be in the position to help someones!!

  • mekelle is developing from time to time.before being a town mekelle's name was Tintemeskel.

  • since meles became leader all of ethiopia has change(developed) not only tigray... at first i thought the same thing you did...being he is from tigray...it would receive the most development but from my recent trip it is not so all of ethiopia is developing at the same pace

  • A brief History Lesson For Eritreans who post stupid comment on this page....

The ancestors of the people living in many areas of Asmara are from Tigrai; who accompanied Ras Alula when he was Emperor Yohanes' representative in Eritrea. One such area in Asmara is a place called Tselot. The significance of Tselot is that it is common knowledge among Eritreans, for being the ancestral home of Isaias Afwerki.
