  • a lot of these containers

  • i just love boners

  • Shame 58s dont run back in the UK! the load of one 58 makes the load on our 66s look sh*t

Most of the 58s have been dumped at Toton, and robbed for workable parts to keep some serviceable 60s and most of the boody in full working sheds in order

    Great vid non the less!

  • Why have they been removed from service then?

  • Well they were deamed life over when EWS ordered 250 class 66 and 30 class 67 locomotives

  • Whilst the withdrawal from service of the class 58's by EWS was nothing short of criminal, apparently they were due mid life overhaul and were non-standard, so therefore deemed too costly to maintain. The class 58's at Toton were probably robbed of parts for use on the loco's that were sent to France and Spain, and not to keep class 60's in service. Class 58 parts, except maybe some cab gauges, wouldn't be much use on a class 60 and certainly not a class 66.

  • the 58's used to come to my old depot at Healey mills on coal jobs from worksop and Toton.

  • death to the sheds

    want my 58's back

  • No way, we have enough 66's now, some 58's enrich the Dutch track landscape! Thanks anyway!

  • British Horse Power! Shame it wasnt working trains that size back in the UK - we can do a deal and you take the 66s!!!

  • look at the train its pulling remember when they came past my house better than the 66's

looks like better pulling power to

  • Only in other countries :(

Man, it'd be nice to see them back working here.

  • Aaah so there's still some 58's left. Cool.
