You stress certain syllables, you lengthen or shorten words, you ride specific parts of the beat or the rhythm which is dictated by the drum. To say Rapping is just speaking massively undermines the talent it takes to spit a complex rhyme or develop your own Cadence. It's like saying "Drumming is just hitting stuff" or "Playing Guitar is just strumming".

Don't EVER compare J. Cole to Tupac....That seriously makes me want to fuck you up...J. Cole is not a bad artist, but will NEVER ever come close to Tupac. Watch documentaries, read about him, read his lyrics. Pac did so much for common people, musically and financially....and his voice....his voice had so much conviction....Pac had the ability to make anybody want to listen and not too many people have that convicting voice on a conscious level, except for Biggie, DMX and Jay-Z.

J. Cole CAN be compared to Tupac based on their value and concepts. Because of the time, along with the events that were happening, Tupac spoke out on those situations and basically tried to speak out against it (tactics of Malcolm X), which he got from his mother, being that she was a Black Panther. J. Cole talks more about the things that he experienced as far as his surroundings in Carolina. But they both have the same concepts. Tupac was just more broad

Don't EVER compare J. Cole to Tupac....That seriously makes me want to fuck you up...J. Cole is not a bad artist, but will NEVER ever come close to Tupac. Watch documentaries, read about him, read his lyrics. Pac did so much for common people, musically and financially....and his voice....his voice had so much conviction....Pac had the ability to make anybody want to listen and not too many people have that convicting voice on a conscious level, except for Biggie, DMX and Jay-Z.
