@MrFootfucker1 He killed Onion the second time around, and would have done the same to Prove Out if he had another crack at him. Jerkins never said those horses were better than Secretariat (that would be insane!), but once said that at his best Sec was in another league.
YES GOD ! Crying clapping, chills ! Every time I watch this footage and/or the movie I still get chills, start to tear up. I saw Sec's STORY FOR THE 1ST TIME ONLY in 2011,love the story. Always liked horses his story made me LOVE THEM. Those who know when GOD touches any of his creatures great, small or human, great things happen. Watching this tell how people cried & cheered @ the track or watching on tv it all makes sense. A good spirit can be felt any time any place TIMELESS.
Secretariat had a big engine of a heart, inherited from his dam's side on the X chromosome (the X-Factor), which gave him all that thrust and power on the track. His trainer knew this colt was special, and needed those monster workouts before races in order to perform well. A freak of nature and a horse like no other.
To the uneducated............NOT steroids! Secretariat had a very large heart. It weighed 22 pounds, compared to 18 for a "normal" thoroughbred. This allowed for a much greater flow of oxygen, thus allowing him to be able to do what he did. But....he had the attitude and the "want-to" also. Without that, the heart wouldn't have mattered that much:)
@IfYouThinkItsButter Thats the best joke ive heard in a while, but. i get it. it sure looks like that when u think like pancho, "Thats imposible"., good one indeed,,,,
Secretariat was as clean as a whistle, otherwise he wouldn't need those monster workouts that Laurin inflicted on him before each race. When he didn't perform well in one of those drilling sessions, such as before the Whitney when he was ill with fever, he lost. However, he never lost when he performed well in a workout. If he was juiced, he could just hang out in his barn/paddock until race day, and then let the drugs do their thing. Sec was a freak.
@SECby31 Secretariat was indeed on steriods. In 1973 everything in America was bullshit from Agnew and Nixon all the way to Henry Aaron and Secretariat.Americans always take any edge they can to win, which is why their horses go to Dubai and run without any juice and dont even pick up their feet.
Everytime I watch Secretariat's Belmont Stakes I get goosebumbs. "He's moving like a tremendous machine!" is my favorite call of all time in horse racing. He is the point God made to Job. Secretariat followed in his sire's hootprints & to this day is never forgotten. Big Red is- the king of horse racing.
@breyerluver22 Don't forget about his mom and maternal grandfather. "Something Royal" was an outstanding broodmare and her sire was "Princequillo" who had enormous stamina. "Secretariat" got the best of both lineages. :)
"To a man....he's going too damn fast". classic..lol. Watching him walk to the winnets circle it looked like he could do another 1 1/2 miles in record time.
No wonder Secreteriat was a great galloper cause its heart was actually nearly double the size of a normal horse according to his autopsy when he died and the legend produced 600 fouls after he retired from racing..WHAT A BEAST
When I watched the movie and this race came on & he started pulling away from shame...and Penny shouts: "let him run.." I started to cry. It was the most beautiful thing I seen.
secretariat was 90% steriods,10 % HGH
