I think that this song is about kiss, because of all trouble that they had during that period of time peter left the band and ace too. So I think that gene was afraid of what would be the kiss future. because of that this master piece was made.
IDK why so many dissed this album when it came out, I mean it was a vast improvement from Unmasked IMO and they even bettered this with Creatures of the Night, a phenomenal album.
This piece can be used as prologe music to a movie. I am inspired. I Shall write a story about a world without heroes. The oddesey will be the title music. The story will have a regular Joe becomming a hero to those who have none.
