International service between nwa and Delta is a joke. Delta began carrying passengers in late 1929 and its first international routes (to the Caribbean and Caracas) in 1953. nwa began transporting passengers in 1927 and it's first international routes in 1928.
It took Delta a total of 29 years to go from a crop duster to an international airline.
It took nwa 2 years to go from transporting US mail to an international airline.

Yes, it was so sad to see that Northwest Airlines moved last Monday to Terminal 5 (Delta's terminal in LAX ) and see some of their equipment with the delta logo. Whishing the best to some Northwest and some Delta employees who lost their jobs effective last Monday.
As of right now, they are still called NW. But the planes which have been re-painted to Delta have to call the tower on approach as NW with Delta colors so as to not confuse the tower. The new Delta paint job still has a small statement on the side which states operated by Northwest Airlines.
