I guess by the time MTV came along, the day of the great singer/songwriter was nearing it's end, and new wave was all the rage! I'm glad Dan was able to get his masterpiece, The Innocent Age, and the great Windows and Walls out, before MTV ended the popularity of the genre all together! Man, the critics at All Music, and most places, are nuts! This album had fine material, that the blinded critics just couldn't see or understand! Many people around me or that I know don't appreciate Dan. Thank God there are people out there that love him the way I did and always will. He was my "soul brother." I'm almost 50 now but will never forget how much in love I was with him when I was 16...and 26...and 36!!

Let me be the first. A wedding song to Dan's 2nd wife , Anastasia Savage Fogelberg. Sometimes, I feel that many of the songs that he wrote,were not always the song of the moment,but for the moments that would happen later on. He finally got it right with Jean.I always said, when he felt passionate about the subject he was writing for, those are the most beautiful melody. I love the guitar work on this song! It's has such a passionate feel to it, like the photo's you used!
