To clarify on the rounds being expended....A soldier needs to know if its weapon is still able to fire and perform. Doing ranges and firing that weapon is a perfect way to see if its working and everything is good with it. A few days before our vehicle had a roll over and that weapon was in the turret and was flown out of it and landed on the pavement. We had to test fire it, and everything was good to go.

Johnny Fuckwad making ammo in Russia is not going to be affected by the ammo the military uses. The military has its own factories, and in fact, it has so much ammo made my the factories that there is too much supply and it's sold on the free market as surplus. Hence Lake City Ammo.

Bolt actions may not have more fire power but depending on which weapons you talk about specifically the bolt actions 90% of the time will out shoot a gas operated weapon in range. Depending on the size and caliber of the weapon.
