  • This song transports me to another world. For a few moments I am in Carrickferus, though I have never bee!

  • Broadwalk Empire!

  • One word - beautiful.

  • Live this song, still. I spent the first 10 yrs of my life in carrick n returned from Australia after 36 yrs, I walked that long road down from Troopers Lane and walked the old streets, past the Big Lamp, to the castle and the water. This song always evokes memories of "home" and always will.

  • this version sounds like the one that must have inspired Joe Dassin to write his French version...

  • I love this song so much, I hope and pray their children are continuing this gift and this is not the end of this wonderful music. God bless all.

  • @togs71 Liam's son Donal Clancy is an Irish folk guitarist. Their nephew (Bobby Clancy's son) Finbarr is a member of the popular Irish group, The High Kings, which sings a lot of Clancy Bros. songs. Finbarr's sister Aoife Clancy is also an Irish folk singer, and of course the Clancy's nephew Robbie O'Connell, who used to sing with The Clancy Brothers, is still singing. And Makem's sons perform too (with the Spain Brothers). So, no, there's no fear that this sort of music will ever die out.

  • Does anybody know what that exact accordion is called which Liam is playing?

  • @ZiGGyMaidEN It's some type of concertina. :o)

  • Yes,....I know, but he does tell a good joke towards the end, doesn't he?
