David McWilliams died in 2002 - he was 56. He was a prolific songwriter, and involved in music all his life: This particular song itself is, believe it or not, about a homeless man who McWilliams knew from his days in Ballymena, in Northern Ireland.

This song is still remembered by many. It never entered the UK top 75. It was played constantly on the pirate radio station Caroline. They were promoting the artist for the record company. If you like this check out his other material from that time. Similar production with lots of lush string arrangements and a distinctive bass.
