  • Nice job, sir. You did credit to this lovely tune. And the intro was spot on- I've seen some crappy keyboard versions on YouTube that don't respect the strict tempo of the original and use the damper pedal, which just makes the wonderful harmony muddy and turns the listening experience into a chore. Good ears!

  • @dlesnar

Thank you very much. 4+ years now since I recorded this one, gosh. I enjoyed working on this one a lot, I might do a better recording some day...

  • Never heard it like this before, amazing.

  • Wonderful!!!!!!!

  • Wow amazing! This is one of my favourite tunes. You really nailed it, and I love this arrangement! Thanks for the tab, by the way. :)

  • @RollTheFemers

    You're welcome, enjoy.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so good... such a masterpiece... made me wanna here this album right away... !!! impressive, accurate... good job man

    !!!

  • very beaufiful, amazing!

  • Impressed

  • Very well done, Time Table is prolly my all time fav Genesis tune and Foxtrot was the only Genesis album I owned until 1981! I think I"ll download the tab for your arrangement and give it a whirl, looks challenging.

  • Yeah, give it a try. Thanks man.

  • Superb mate; honestly, well-done !!!!!!!!!!!

    Such an under-rated/underplayed track.

Sums up ALL that's GREAT about the Gabriel/Hackett era (before they "lost the plot").

Hackett himself would be proud of ya !!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you very much. They never played this song live which maybe contributed to feed the impression of this one being a 'second-class' song on Foxtrot.

  • it s beautiful somebody take this wonderful piece for playing it as you do... you have a fine taste to choose this composition and share it!

  • Thank you, it is a great song indeed.

  • Very well executed, considering this is an adaptation on guitar of a full blown Genesis tune and all the respective instrument voices. Thanks, Hyperboreal, for the demonstration.

  • Thank you for your kind words ExcaliburJones.

  • Bravo....ottima esecuzione

  • excellent!

  • Fantastic Job man,..Awesome..Genesis in the 70's, something really great..

  • Very good transcription.

With a bit more of practice, it will become very fluid and even better.

    Congratulations, thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I remember I didn't rehearse the piece very much before recording. Should post a proper video with better audio someday.

  • Great!

    You're a big guitar player ..

  • You are an amazing guitarist!! I'm so glad to find that so many people like and know about the old genesis. Everyone I talk to either doesn't know about them or knows about phil collins' pop genesis.. This is one of my favorites, and thanks for all the genesis vids,, that's awesome.

  • Ohhh...very nice...congratulations, ..a genius with the guitar

  • great playing great tune.cheers

  • This is absolutely beautiful - excellent work! Lovely take on an underrated song that is one of my personal favourites

  • Thanks jammin, I love this song too. There's a strong match of lyrics and music in this one that takes you into the story.

  • Couldn't have put it better myself!

  • Awesome man! tabs please!!!!!!!

  • Awesome! please can you send me the tabs,

    anyway you're great

  • Click at the video description box and you'll see a link with some tabs. You're going to need the powertab program to open the "Time Table" one.

  • thanks a lot!

  • oh nice one!! very nice version and lovely intro!! many compliments..let me invite you to watch our full version of this nice song hoping you will enjoy! thanks a lot :)!!

p.s. why don't you try and make the intro of firth of fifth for classical guitar? once i saw a guitarist doing it!! so it's not impossible as i used to think..but it must be a hard work!! bye bye

  • Wow, it's a pleasure to receive such good feedback from you guys. You cover the glorious 1968-1977 era wonderfully. I'm particularly impressed with your interpretation of the early songs.

If you dig on my videos you'll find one with the intro to Firth of Fifth played on nylon strings. And Thank you!

  • wonderfullllllll

  • great!

  • But now it doesn't work! :( The website has been closed

  • I've redirected it to my site. Just try now.

  • Waaaaaaaaah awesome, please send more music from the 70's, I love it

  • No problem pal, I'm a 70's music lover.

  • I would have never thought it is possible to play the intro with a guitar! lol.

  • I wouldn't have either until I gave it a try :)

  • wonderful stuff — sounds good on acoustic guitar and looks hard to play... :-))

  • I don't know what to say you're too good......

  • Well done. (5 Stars!)

  • You can now find a tab based on this arrangement in the Powertab Archive. I can't post a link here but you'll find it if you Google "hyperboreal powertab time table", or something like that.

This is a very thoughtful and effective arrangement IMO...thank you so much for sharing it.

  • Yeah, someone has finally done the "dirty work" that I accommodatingly refused to carry out. And he's done it superbly indeed, you can download the powertab by going to powertabs dot net or by clicking at the link here in the video details. Thank you Greg!

    Best wishes!

  • could you write this tab, share with us this incredible song and let us play like you. please please please

    THX ;)

  • Even though I've made some tabs in the past I realized that it's a lot of work and I'd rather spend that time on other activities at the moment. This said, I don't absolutely refuse the idea of writing this piece on tab but I don't know when that'd be. Thanks for your interest madxTUBE.

  • Tell us if you decide to write the tab...

I'd really like to play this arrangement!
