@shayne7oliver Well the death really wasn't all that violent there was basically no blood when Bottles got hit he was just charred, plus the fact that he comes back to life anyway before the end probably made up for it I mean he doesn't stay a corpse forever in the game plus the graphics don't look all that violent. Go figure the DK Rap in DK64 had the word Hell in it and that's rated E (though to be fair Hell isn't a swear in the U.K.)

@shayne7oliver Oh yeah sorry for posting another comment but if forgot to also tell you that the E-10 rating also didn't exist back then so E was probably the closest they could get the rating, but I don't see any problem with that most kids will probably be too young to even notice the hidden adult humor and most of the rest of the mature stuff anyway, besides I remember cartoons on kids networks got away with more mature stuff so a cartoony game for kids probably could have back then too.

Yeah, Banjo Kazooie was hard. But once you know where all of the jiggies and everything else is, that game becomes incredibly easy. So easy that you could beat it in a day or two...provided if you have the time to do so.
