  • Hi Stefan, I go back learning from you to the seventies, when i was a teenager and would collect your articles from Guitar Player magazine and Id buy your records wherever they could be found. I miss those days before CD'S, DVD's, and computers, lol. You turned me onto so much amazing music and helped me craft my style; and for this Id just like to say thank you for being such a great human being and inspiration. Words fail me so Im just going to go back to playing some Lightnin Hopkins now!

  • Does he teach it note for note in the actual DVD? I'm having some trouble following this since I'm a beginner with the whole alternate thumb thing...

  • Stefan, do you use unusually thick strings for this tuning?

  • Gosh Stefan, you certainly make that guitar talk and sing. Fabulous tune and a great lesson, Thanks alot . I love all the DVD guitar lessons i have of you, they are brilliant. As is your Guitar Workshop web site. Thanks again.

  • hello

  • hello mr.grossman i love your style, i'm 14 and have been playing for a while now but i still can't get the syncopated bass notes with the melody.any tips???

  • stefan--real nice guitar. I know its your signature martin. What pick-up are you using?

  • No pick up for this recording.

  • Wonderful sounds. Looks like a Martin OM-42....Basically an OM-28/ without the bling (which I like)

  • best teacher, thanks man

  • That Martin set you back a few bucks but, well worth it.. I have a 00-28 ec and I am keeping it forever

  • @FredFrick16, That is his signature Martin guitar, I have one and it is awesome.

  • You are a Lucky Guy to have one. I also have a Martin 12 string. Stefan is a great Teacher, Makes me wish he lived nextdoor. Same for Happy Traum

  • just bought a hj-38 martin stefan grossman guitar. awsome sounding guitar. madagascar rosewood is equal to brazillian rosewood in sound production and projection

  • Thank you! What a great lesson. Wish I could sit down with you everyday until it clicked. Great method you have of teaching.

  • This is a great video. Thanks Stefan.

  • Is this CGCGCE or some variant of it?

  • Yes that's the tuning I'm playing in.

  • I think I'll get this DVD when I've worked through the 'How To Play Blues Guitar' set.

  • This is very interesting, I'll have to try this.

    Great Picking!
