  • Got the chills on how good this is! Trilok is unreal, he must be the mastermind behind these bizarre and previously unthinkable instrumental projects, just when you have scoured youtube thinking what else could there possibly be to watch, along comes trilok to keep you on the edge of your seat, ha

  • That was really nice.

  • the string quartet are like incredible music robots. trilok is masterful

  • I Dream that" I am here live, listening to these musicians.". Wouldn't that be sublime??? We are so lacking in cultural events in our little area. My heart is jumping for joy. Thank you Dear Being for sharing this with me. I cherish your thoughtfulness. :-) 2:44 LOVE this. No one seems to tell me what you call this wonderful voicing within. Unless it is notes voiced. Help???? :-) Oh that beat got me with all those lovly stings chilling the soul. Ha ha Joyful for sure. <3 You all.

  • @nancyl2 at 2:44 the piece that is sung is a mix of tabla (musical instrument) language phrases and some indian classical dance phrases sung as dance takes place, this type of dance is called kathak dance.

The voicing you want to know about is sung whilst a kathak dancers dances and the tabla (musical instrument) plays at the same time.

You should search "Kathak Dance" in youtube to find example.

    Good luck

    Hope this helps.

    Tc

  • Trilok is amazingggg!!! and so r the other players !!!

  • Wow ! Never heard a thing like this. Thanks.

  • The voicing of the beats is called KunnakkoL in the South and Tan-bol in North Indian traditions. In Indian music/dance the beats too have tone and duration - not just delay duration or untapped length - but real duration. So the first hurdle the aspiring percussionist must cross is the kunnakkoL. In Indian dance there is also what is called nattuvangam, the voiced beat-tone-time keeping. Here you have beat glides like glissando. There are 6 orthodox nattuvangam styles
