I thought I was pretty good on '80s music, but I never heard of this - amazing. He wasn't the worst around then, thats for sure, but I'm glad he ended up doing comedy!!

actually downloaded his song, bitter heart its the second one you see him singing......its actually quite good, typically 80's I dont know why a lot of people make fun of him for this lol he was actually quite good, again it was typically 80's.....glad he didnt stick with it though.

I love, Ricky is awesome and it's refreshing to know he's had the odd failure...although it's still a video which is more than most tortured musicians will ever achieve. Oh and for the genius who wrote "Ricky Gervais should have stayed thin"....gee, thanks for the insight...

Ricky Gervais is a comic genius, and this is one of the funniest things he's done! I just sat there open-mouthed at Ricky like that, good-looking(:s), and singing in all seriousness and started cracking up.

The still picture of him is stunning - he was gorgeous - very David Bowie! I don't remember his band although I guess I would have seen them at the time on the tele. He also managed one of my favourite bands, Suede. Being selfish, I'm glad his pop career didn't work out, because he is a brilliant comedian and we would have been robbed without him.

true, tigerboy. "more to lose", the song in the vid with a piano opening, was a massive hit in the philippines in 83-84. like all filipinos, i am more surprised that he eventually became a successful comedian and not the other way around.
