you won't get much upload speed with comcast. but tis' true for the money comcast internet gives the most speed and reliability. i go by different means of obtaining their service but they are still great.

im a tech with comcast and yes we r better than fios comcast rules and the grass is not greener with fios i knew overtime people would catch on i hear the same negative remarks daily about fios people switching back to us in record numbers i do installs everyday and i rock em all! twice as much work as any verizon guy and i still get it done right as long as the customer has a good computer our service is always reliable here in maryland

well I got to say ever since you all did that big upgrade in Tennessee Ive been getting what I payed for normally my internet speed would be just 7mb and 10mb on a good day but now it's 20mb average

yea we r actually gonna be upgrading much more in the near future we r gonna be lookin at 50mb down and 50mb up its makin our network much more sensitive but its making customers very happy lol as long as no one jumps down my throat it makes my normally enjoyable job that much easier and i can focus on fixing their issue or doing the install right instead of getting ripped a new one lol so its great on both ends

Whut? There is no guarantee that the speed won't go under the speed you're paying for. You might live out in the middle of nowhere and pay for 100mbps (obviously they wouldn't offer it to you if so), but obviously you wouldn't get it.

I work for Comcast, for those of you who have it you will be very happy next year. We are migrating our servers to Docsis 3, which will allow for upload and download speeds of 100-150mbps. I am getting 46 download currently at my house with 6mb upload. Average cost without a special for Comcast Broadband is 42-48 bucks a month for the product by itself.

Yes, Comcast is putting limits on it's users. You can download 250 GB per month. If you exceed that you "Might" get a warning letter.

That means you would have to download over 25000 songs in a month or over 250 movies in HD.

So yes, we are capping people who are using "Personal Accounts" to run servers and trying to convert them to Buisness accounts.

You still will not find a faster connection out there anywhere.

Your DL speed is VERY fast, however, the 1598 kbps upload suffered horribly compared to the Verizon FiOS. Is there a chance you could get an updated figure with all bandwidth at your disposal? I'd be curious to see if your upload speed was much effected. Nonetheless, thanks for presenting your speedtest, I'd hate to run into you in a Kbps race :(, and the Comcast minimum speed guarantee I neglected to consider. Unfortunately, 45kb/sec upload for 55+ bucks a months makes me rather bitter...
