How much better are these guitars compared to the "regular" Martins? I better check out the Taylor site and see if they have a Taylor Swift model. I suppose if a fan wants to be like their idol, then buy it dammit! Nothing wrong with that!!

@mrbabblehead haha Taylor Swift DOES have a (crappy) signature model. btw it's not really about getting something better when you purchase an OMJM. it's about getting something different, mainly because of the Engelmann spruce top and the C shape neck. most of the time the signature models aren't better than the regular ones but they certainly sound and play different and some people will like that.

Good job, almost got that really hard part.

Some of the chords are wrong, but before all else you should probably work on your rhythm. The strumming gets a bit hokey at times and repetitive.

John Mayer has some pretty complex drummer like stuff happening in his rhythm that is hard to duplicate. That's one of his greatest strengths and comes from trying to fill in for a lack of a band.

The rhythm thing though is a hump most people don't get over. If you do, you'll be one of only a handful.

Don't be discouraged though, it probably wont take you as long as it took me. I was kind of an airhead when it came to hearing myself.

Your tempo was excellent /consistent. .What is really great is that you had great ideas.(1:20).Not sure if they were copped from Mayer. but you could reach for even more than the doubled open "G' thingy and try maybe double G's an octave up or even a creative chord within the flow .You see in the end improvising within the context of a song will make it your own and unique. But overall really very good .

As for the performance, personally I would have liked to see him sing it as well since I initially found that more challenging to keep up the percussive rhythm simultaneously with the vocals, but he does a very very nice job. Some of the chords are slightly wrong, but he plays well and allows his instrument to sing.

Good song. I'd rate it around 80-95% (90-95% if he sang it too).

You sound pretty pathetically jealous to me. This happens to be a fun song to play, and not all that difficult if you spend some time practicing instead of looking for videos that remind you how hopeless you are.

As for the guitar, I like my $3000 Martin better (GPCPA1), but that is my personal choice. This guitar sounds nice. Perhaps, one day when you grow up, you might get a JOB and then you might be able to afford a decent guitar as well.
