Written by Carole King.(and Jerry Goffin) That bouncy piano beat you hear was classic Carole, and a direct influence, yes really, on the Beatles-they were very aware of her.
Happy Birthday to one of our favorite entertainers Peter Noone. My wife and I met you many years ago when you, Bobby Sherman, and Davy Jones performed as the teen idols concert at Walt Disney World in Florida. Thanks for taking the time to take pictures with your fans. Thanks for the autograph thanks for your kindness. From The Langzelli Family
that "oh wee oooh", i think Socal got some stuff from the british invasion. I love the beach boys and i am from surf city ( Huntington Beach) but I have heard so many brit bands from the early 60's influence their music. socal surf music got alot of stuff from the brits, but then again the brits got alot from US soul and rockabilly before that even, including the great beatles.
This song rockets me back to the '60's as a kid. Loved HH. Me mum was from Scotland, so even though I was a Yank, I could do about ten different UK accents and all my friends used to ask me to sing the Hermits' stuff all the time. What a luverly memory.
This song was featured in 'The Naked Gun: Files From Police Squad', right?; Because IMDB lists Peter Noone as the artist. Is this the version they're talking about because this is the only version I know about & this version sounds like the version heard in the film.
Yeah brismike65, good old Mc Donalds, are using it in there new add,it made me stop and listen,'the burgers are better at hungry jacks,'but a good song
@101ashiee101 thanks ashiee, yes just found out as well as I was typing this, I'm guilty, as much as i'm not Macca's friendly there is something about the version, murdering Herman's Hermits in one way, yet quite bright. They certainly picked the the right song so long as Herman's Hermits are getting royalities. Thanks for that info.
Just on the off chance if anyone in Australia reads this - this song is being used in a commercial where it sounds like a bunch of school kids and it sounds great. Does anyone know what that commercial is please?
i came to this vid , when i saw people comin on here same as me looking for this after watching the naked gun made me piss myself hahaha

I got back from the theater after seeing "Contagion" and when I got into my car, this was playing.
Then I thought: "If Steven Soderbergh was looking for dark humor, he should play this song while all the rioting and dying occurs."
but that's only if he wanted some dark humor.
