Then the comparisons stop there. Gaming on cell phones in 2004 was not as popular as today. In 2004, people wanted flip phones and not gaming phones that was shaped like a gigantic taco. The market and tech is mature enough to have gaming phones now and XPERIA Play will help spawn more of it.

XPERIA Play could be the beginning of the end for dedicated gaming handhelds. Once other cell phone manufacturers start copying this slide-out gaming pad form factor and technology catches up to NGP's hardware, our 3DS and NGP could be sitting home collecting dust. The reason why I prefer NGP over XPERIA Play is better hardware and its form factor since I find the PSP Go to feel uncomfortable. At least Sony is covering all their bases w/ these devices and the PlayStation Suite (ecosystem).
