I would love if someone called Dany the Plot-Stopper, the Ice Queen, the Daario-f*cker out on her bullshit like this. Preferably with awesome music and singing as presented here by these BAMFs.
It's so unfortunate that Dimitrova is inflicted with the totally at sea, mousy Domingo. Muzio got Caruso, McCormack, Gigli, Martinelli, Lauri Volpi, and Francesco Merli. Flagstad got Melchoir. Callas got Bergonzi, Vickers and Corelli. What tenors had Dimitrova got that's worth her artistry? No one.
Placido's Nessum Dorma kind of sucks but here he is excellent. Usually we are spared from Domingo's bashing where he's good, but you must be an original character :)
Exceptional performance from both. One of the best opera scene around.
Dimitrova doesn't stop to amaze me every time I listen to her performances in the eighties. It's not just her big, big voice, but her control of such a titanic voice, and how much soul she put in her singing, that's what make me prefer her even to Nilsson, even as Turandot. She's much more an italian singer.
The more I hear Dimitrova's singing in this performance, the more I am struck how much easier she sang than in the Verona performance. While the Verona performance had it's brilliance, this one is more complete, more nuanced...

What did you really want to express? It's so illogical.

5:14 onward - so exquisitely sung. That said, the morals of the this scene are pretty messed up.

They both are GORGEOUS, AWESOME, both in the Riddle scene and here. Their singing and acting is remarkable. Rest in peace, dear Ghena.

Obviously, if you don't want to be touched, singing Non mi toccar... is not enough. You have to run :)
Anyway, it's perfect. THE perfect opera.

Wow, she wasn't a great actress, but with Zefferelli directing her, he really brought her best out...
