@ShadowVampira tuxedo kamen never throws roses because the manga tuxedo kamen never threw roses. he's instead becomes more active and gains a speciaL attack called the sky bomber and a counter attack with his daughter rini. he also becomes immortal too after marrying usagi and gaining some of the crystal's power in the manga and after defeating metalicca too.

@Shotgunryugan because tuxedo mask's manga counterpart didn't throw roses in the manga. the live action is following basically how the manga went, with a couple of changes, such as mina's terminal illness, dark sailor mercury, princess serenity acting like sailor saturn, chibi luna taking rini's place, and mamoru having a girlfriend named hina before usagi.

An Americanized version would not work since we don't have the right context for it to work. The costumes are extensions off of the school uniforms. You could do something with the same theme, heroic girl group, but I'm not sure it would have the same appeal since they would have to do the whole politically correct stuff to get it on the air.

You'd have the cast of glee, which works for a group of outsiders, but not as

an all star hero group.

I was reading the recent comments. Reminds me of my mother bitching about some the the Japanese anime, I rented with English subtitles, and some without to entertain my sisters (identical twins), when sailor-moon first came out. She felt it was too much for them to deal with the subtitles, or they would not like it, because the characters did not speak English. They were 8 years old at the time. It kept us occupied. I kept breaking taboos in my late 20's.

In the Anime 10 of the 13 Sailor Senshi wear boots when they are in their outfits only Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus and Sailor Neptune didn't wear boots there wore shoes instead I wish the person who created this show and the anime had also had those three battle in boots as well but she went with something different for them.
