Best to consider a sky box more like a PC than a standard satellite receiver, in terms of the reboot process takes quite a while and if you keep doing it (each night) you will almost definitely end up having problems and need to manually download the software (using backup) or maybe even need to reformat hard drive. So though plugging out is both green and money saving it is not a good idea.
Hi. I was told to keep my Sky box plugged at all times. Is this really necessary? I tested how long it takes to scan for channels if the Sky box was plugged out and then in again. It only took 30 seconds. Also I now have 2 Sky boxes. The second one is in the kitchen and is rarely used - is it best to keep that box plugged out?
If the scart lead has been connected from the sky box to the TV just do the following
make sure the sky box is on (green light)
Press the AV button on your TV (either will say source, AV or be a box with an arrow)
check the input that matches the input you have choosen i.e. if scart goes into input marked AV1 on the back of the TV then select AV1 input on the TV source button menu.
can you help me.my digital box has already been done i jus need to connect it to the tv but i dont knoe how..the only thing thats been connected to the tv from the box is the scart thing..lool hope you understand me..lool but pls do help :)
i dont have a sky card but is it possible to watch freeview so i can record it ?

@DuBiH3CTiiCz unfortunately not. you would have to use a seperate dvd recorder or someth8ing like that.

iv lost the wee connector that you just screwed on the back of the box can i just stick the copper wire in or do i need one?
