I don't care how you slice it; Faron was an ass compared to the other dragons (Who would only withhold their parts if they couldn't give it to you). In addition, her solution for the monster infestation--which you easily could've dealt with yourself--was to flood the whole damn forest and uproot several forms of Earth-based life.

...I wonder how the hell they got elected for their position in the first place.

Easily my favorite song hunt. Eldin was just them trying to copy the "sneaky link" thing that they've been doing every story so far, and Lanayru was a pretty feeble timestone thing. Kinda cool though that they had you change the past and show an alternate reality with the tree, reminiscent of Oracle of Ages.

I was also pretty ticked off at Faron for flooding the entire forest. But upon closer inspection, she set up some magical barriers so the water wasn't everywhere. And in a real flood like that, the place would have been supersaturated. There would have been debris everywhere as well  But after draining the forest, everything was fine. I think Faron just filled up the airspace with water and didn't actually let the plants and soil fill with water.

Yeah you really had to work for that first part of the song. The second one did not have any test but then again I would not want one after the whole Oracle of Ages type quest where those little trolls steal all your stuff and you have to get it back. Lanayru you had to do some work but it was for a good cause because he was sick and had to be cured. Faron is a bit of a jerk. I know she wanted to stop the monsters but what about the good creatures like Kikwi? Flooding it was not the answer.

In that extra time, Link could've saved Zelda and gone back to Skyloft, thus preventing Ghirahim from accomplishing his plans, and Demis would never have been resurrected. But no. Faron wants you to collect a bunch of music fish...

I did this task while swearing at the dragon for flooding an entire echosystem simply for the sake of killing monsters. It lasted a good 30 minutes of me ranting alone in front of my tv.

FACIST DRAGON! What is the damn point of flooding everything! Nobody's there anymore to realise that there's no more monsters! You just drowned every plant, animal and person!

To be honest, I really liked this part of the game. Sure it was a bit tedious to collect all the Tadtones, but I liked finding them. It felt like a fun little quest. It gives a Super Mario Sunshine feeling. Everything looked so beautiful and cherished.

So really, the hierarchy of power is the Three Golden Goddesses at the top, Hylia in the middle, and the Dragons below. The dragons are named after the Goddesses, not the other way around, as the Goddesses are responsible for the creation of Hyrule.

I quite enjoyed swimming around the forest. Even though you've been there so many times, it seems so different underwater. But collecting tadpoles? A little..mundane. I couldn't help but wish it was something a little more interesting or heroic. Like, I dunno, a monster took something(s) precious from the dragon, which is what set her off into flooding the forest, and you have to retrieve it/them. Would make more sense than tadpoles, anyhow. xP

I just don't get it. If the Earth Dragon gives you the song as soon as you meet him, why does the Water Dragon make you go through hell in the form of an underwater scavenger hunt if link has the triforce on his hand, the master sword, AND the goddess's harp which is clear evidence that He's the Hero he or she should be helping? Ugh, well that's Nintendo logic for ya. Making the player do something pointless just to extend the game's length. The rest of the game's great at least. :D
