This is EC's best bluesguitar solo ever!EC and Gibson 335 is the best thing what ever has happened in rockmusic. He played it even with Cream about 45y ago.
I love to listen to EC doing the blues! I know Jimi is supposed to be the best guitarist, but Eric is my favorite, especially doing the blues. I don't care if others play the blues better. His sound moves me like no one else, colour notwithstanding. In fact, race has nothing to do with it. I'd love it if there were a 2-disc, live blues album; From the Cradle isn't enough.

To all the Clapton worshipers out there: stop trying to reason with haters. There are people out there who make a career out of being detractors because they resent other people's success and popularity. The more Clapton fans place him on a pedestal, the more it irks the haters. The reason EC is still worshiped 40 yrs after being pronounced dead by self proclaimed "sophisticated" music experts is because is still the greatest living blues guitarist. Similar jerks tore down BB for selling out too.
@onewaytoplay I did not just come here to hate but have you not seen Freddie Kings version of this? Im sorry Eric, you did not top Freddie. Has nothing to do with Claptons epic success....
@onewaytoplay I like how you link it to BB, both gents are two of the most heartfelt guitar players in my personal oppinion, some say Mark Knopfler is the better player, much respect to Marky but Eric plays through the heart where you can tell he has roots in the blues. His feel for music is superb.
@onewaytoplay Selling out like it's a criminal act? What about politicians who "sell out" the entire country?
What about those f'ing pimps who "sell out" our children? Drug Lords who do no more than "infect/sell out" our beautiful youth? Nah....this guy certainly did not "sell out", in my eyes....
SRV took everything by storm.but clapton shouldnt have told him bout the helicopters outside then he wouldnt have been still alive today. he shouldnt went with his brother and sister and law.
@dixiedragon54 LOL - Nope! Sorry spud - you do not appreciate my comment, so don't be so pathetically daft. Clapton was amazing until 1971 - after that it has been a very dull career with some exceptionally awful music ('Pretending' - one string solo - oh how we laughed our arses off). Sure I can think of a few good tunes such as Let It Rain, but with the vile exploitative dollar grab of Tears In Heaven (also called Crocodile Tears In Hell) he descended into the 'missing in action' category. FU!
@MissEgasMoniz I hope to God you never have children, barren douchebag. Tears In Heaven was written about the unspeakable tragedy of his four year old son's death. If you can't hear that, do the world a favor and shove an icepick in each ear. FU, sans lubricant.
@mollyipowers LOL - hey ignorant douche bag ball-less suburbanite dumbfuck. That vile exploitative co-written piece of rubbish top 40 tasteless crap was co-written? Hardly from the heart eh fat cunt. Crapton knew the foolish top 40 masses would eat this shit up. His son died but he decided to make millions as a result. You are part of the problem spud - now fuck off and attempt to keep striving.

"Yawn........Zzzzzzzz......great before 1971 - shite ever since. This is not the blues you dumb ignorant fools. Good music is beyond you all - very sad."
So great and wonderful all knowing blues expert lay it on us. What is good music?
"Rolling Stone magazine and white suburbanite's all across the world think he is great - but musicians and other musical educated people know better.."
How can one be so brain dead and still be able to type? Just to name a couple, BB King and Buddy Guy both hold EC in very high regard. But I suppose you wouldn't call those two musically educated. You just keep typing and proving my point. But you're entitled to your opinion. Carry on.
Yawn........Zzzzzzzz......great before 1971 - shite ever since. This is not the blues you dumb ignorant fools. Good music is beyond you all - very sad.
@MissEgasMoniz Bullshit. From the Cradle and Blues for Robert J were both in the nineties, and stand with his best work ever. I've seen him many times, from the first Cream performance in the US and on and on. There is no better blues guitarist alive. Stevie Ray woulda been right there if he hadn't died twenty years ago. You wouldn't know the blues from a bucket of cold piss.
@slownoman EC is a bucket of piss......ahahahaha...the blues.....EC is a shockingly awful blues player who has also released some the worst most vile top 40 pop crap of all time. Sorry spud - Rolling Stone magazine and white suburbanite's all across the world think he is great - but musicians and other musical educated people know better. Your naivety is rather sad. Too EC didn't get on that helicopter instead of SRV. Cream were great - EC has been missing in action for 40 yrs.
sorry dude u really don't have a clue what u r talking about. maybe some of his music in the 80's isn't to your taste but there's no denying that the guy is a legend and one of the best blues guitarist ever- SRV included- BTW its not only Rolling Stone magazine and white suburbanite's who think EC is amazing, his contemporary guitarist think so too. BB king, buddy guy, jeff beck, even Hendrix and SRV when that where alive thought that EC was amazing and their opinion > yours
@1stHokageSama Nope - sorry AOR fan - it is you who has nary a clue. I own everything EC did up until the Layla album - inc. live bootlegs like you wouldn't believe - bet you have no EC/Cream/Mayal/Yardbirds/Blind Faith/Dominos/& other bootlegs - oh great swami of EC. Between then and now it has been a few sporadic good songs....otherwise 40 years of commercial armani suit wearing slickly over produced blues pop for whitey.
@MissEgasMoniz actually for your information i've been collecting pretty much every piece of EC stuff i can find especially from his early days of yarbirds, bluesbreakers and cream. i don't have everything but i do have a lot. in this internet age it isn't too hard to find- like i said before some of his 80's stuff may not be to your taste, but there's no denying that the man is a living legend and can play some mean blues guitar.
SRV was also a big clapton fan too- and that was in the 80's. All u show is bitterness and ignorance when u make stupid comments like "its not only Rolling Stone magazine and white suburbanite's who think EC is amazing." Do us a favour and stop being a hater. If u don't like EC then don't watch his youtube clips. leave them for those who can appreciate his talent instead of making ignorant comments and hating on a guy you don't know and probably will never meet.
@1stHokageSama Of course legends like Guy & King swarm over EC - one night or session w/ EC makes them more $ than they saw in the first 20 yrs of their career. As for Beck - nope....one of the most overrated disappointing duds ever - couldn't play in a band before his ego fucked things up and then he thought he was john Mclaughlin which just led to a series of very dull attempts. Beck's newer band is okay - sexy bass player. Hendrix knew EC when EC was great - so that's a pointless argument
@MissEgasMoniz Blow a goat, skank. I've seen Son House, played with Rev. Gary Davis, seen Eric sit in with Buddy Guy and burn the house down. Go back to the Jiveass Brothers and your natural shopping mall lunchmeat parking lot whorehouse status. Thanks for playing, eagerassbeavercleaver.

You wouldn't know the blues from a bucket of cold piss.
slownoman 5 months ago

1stHokageSama 5 months ago in playlist Eric Clapton Play the Blues
@1stHokageSama Nope - sorry AOR fan - it is you who has nary a clue. I own everything EC did up until the Layla album - inc. live bootlegs like you wouldn't believe - bet you have no EC/Cream/Mayal/Yardbirds/Blind Faith/Dominos/& other bootlegs - oh great swami of EC. Between then and now it has been a few sporadic good songs....otherwise 40 years of commercial armani suit wearing slickly over produced blues pop for whitey.
MissEgasMoniz 5 months ago

1stHokageSama 5 months ago 24
