Damn, this game is dark. This game makes Eggman more than a stereotypical villain. He manages to summon a god [of destruction], get all the Chaos Emeralds, feed it to Chaos, and Eggman crashes. And the music? It gives you the feeling that there's no hope...the apocalypse is near. Basically, FUCKING BADASS.
I seriously think that the Sonic Adventure games were the only good ones. I also think that these are the most canon considering they focus on the Chaos Emeralds the most.
You know by now don't you think that some one or some thing in the sonic universe would think to hide or seal the chaos emeralds away due to all the s**t they always end up causing?
Perfect Chaos....brings back frustrating memories! I was always nervous that I would not finish in time because I was so low on freakn rings the second time around!
The final boss was pretty disappointing for me, I completed stages 1&2 and was getting ready for round 3, then the ending came up and i thought "oh.....well that was easy...Oh! Maybe there's more after the credits *credits end* .......-_- you're kidding me, that's it?"
Ye, it's gotta be one of the easiest if not THE easiest Sonic Final bosses goin' IMO
@Jetrelie nah, metal overlord from sonic heroes is much easier. Perfect chaos is medium difficulty when it comes to 3d sonic games. Hardest is definately Bio Lizard

@ZachandYoshi Reminds me of Naruto, where they skipped the 5th and 7th tail transformations. I hate it when they do that. I want to see the whole evolutionary line, not just certain jumps. Interestinly, the full forms of Perfect Chaos and the Nine-Tailed Fox are around the same size....
jiggypuff is a useless blob, its in the same tier as magikarp, and what makes magikarp better then jiggly is the fact that it evolves into something worthwhile unlike jigglypuff, there are 500 more pokemon more useful then jigglypuff
i want chaos as an available playable character in the next sonic game damn it! only sonic battle and sa2b versus had him, maybe put him in the next smash bros replace snake and jiggly puff, also add in shadow and mewtwo too XD

Every other game the patern was recversed... the biolizard had somewhat creepy, then epic for finalhazard. Metal Madness had creepy, Metal Overlord epic. Solaris went from creepy to epic. Why was the pattern reverse in the first? My theory for creepy-then-e;ic patern is that, at first, your like "oh my, what is that think? We can't beat it!" but then, after the boss is somewhat fought, you know you can do this. Thats my theory, but I don't understand why it was different in this one.

@mariofreak955 Have you played the Mario RPG games? They can get quite dark. The first Paper Mario game actually starts out with Bowser completely overpowering and then killing Mario. And then throwing him off a castle floating hundreds of feet in the air. While LAUGHING like the sociopathic manchild he is.
Heck, the Shadow Queen is similar to Chaos in the sense that she destroyed half the planet before being sealed away. Except she's smarter and scarier.

Okay, let's get something straight. This song, is AWESOME, but they should have just stayed with Open Your Heart. But either way, this song is awesome and perfectly fitting for a blood-thirsty, brutal monster that's goal in life is to throw the world as we know it into hell and make all chaos break loose upon us.
Sounds like a remixed Egg-Viper theme with more notes and dramic effects. Should I get this game? I already played the 2nd one, but this one looks more awesome.
It's just as good, or even better, in my opinion. Both games are amazing. Sonic Adventure 1 has better story, characterization, and platforming, but Sonic Adventure 2 has better physics and overall gameplay. Both have amazing music. But, that's just my opinion.

Actually, the change works pretty well in my opinion - it's like Perfect Chaos realised how powerful Super Sonic was and decided the kiddy gloves were coming off. That's the vibe I got when playing, thinking "Oh shit, he's serious now!"

@Resulli I think what they were going for was having that exhilaration of being super sonic and it's like YEAH, I'M GONNA WIN!! Then they have a Dragonball Z moment where the smoke clears and the big enemy is unscathed. But I agree, it ruins the mood.
@Resulli I disagree. Open Your Heart is really energetic and motivational and happy. There's no sense of doubt or doom, therefore no sense of challenge during that music. Open Your Heart just sounds like Sonic's feeling like he's on top of the world and he's going to destroy Perfect Chaos without a problem, but this music turns the tables and instills a feeling of fear in the player that he might not succeed in the battle, or at least that's what it's aimed for.
@Resulli at least in the sonic games of now they got it right. put music like this first and then put a remix of the main theme or put the main theme as phase two of the boss.
@Resulli That is true, now that I think about it. The climactic finish to the game set to the game's main theme would have been the right way to go. Perfect Chaos' theme introduces the battle because its in control at the start but after showing Super Sonic does have what it takes to defeat the creature, the second phase should be set to "Open Your Heart" because he's about to win.
@Resulli In fact, in the PC version, you can switch the music around at your own leisure. So if you don't like that, just switch the file names for the two themes so Perfect Chaos' theme plays during the first phase and "Open Your Heart" is playing during the second phase.
Metal Sonic performs in the action stage/boss level, the same level clear pose as Sonic but he doesn't speak, and I think Metal Sonic should get more of a chance to speak with his own voice in the future Sonic games to come

It's just as good, or even better, in my opinion. Both games are amazing. Sonic Adventure 1 has better story, characterization, and platforming, but Sonic Adventure 2 has better physics and overall gameplay. Both have amazing music. But, that's just my opinion.

I hated how they changed from Open Your Heart to this. If it was the other way around it woulda been cool but putting this AFTER Open Your Heart really ruins the mood.

Actually, the change works pretty well in my opinion - it's like Perfect Chaos realised how powerful Super Sonic was and decided the kiddy gloves were coming off. That's the vibe I got when playing, thinking "Oh shit, he's serious now!"

@2BadGanje Exactly! Because let's face those damned cyclones were a real menace. Especially the gold blasts that homed in fast. It was hard to deal with if you got hit with one.

@Resulli I think what they were going for was having that exhilaration of being super sonic and it's like YEAH, I'M GONNA WIN!! Then they have a Dragonball Z moment where the smoke clears and the big enemy is unscathed. But I agree, it ruins the mood.

@Resulli I disagree. Open Your Heart is really energetic and motivational and happy. There's no sense of doubt or doom, therefore no sense of challenge during that music. Open Your Heart just sounds like Sonic's feeling like he's on top of the world and he's going to destroy Perfect Chaos without a problem, but this music turns the tables and instills a feeling of fear in the player that he might not succeed in the battle, or at least that's what it's aimed for.

@Resulli at least in the sonic games of now they got it right. put music like this first and then put a remix of the main theme or put the main theme as phase two of the boss.

@Resulli That is true, now that I think about it. The climactic finish to the game set to the game's main theme would have been the right way to go. Perfect Chaos' theme introduces the battle because its in control at the start but after showing Super Sonic does have what it takes to defeat the creature, the second phase should be set to "Open Your Heart" because he's about to win.

@Resulli In fact, in the PC version, you can switch the music around at your own leisure. So if you don't like that, just switch the file names for the two themes so Perfect Chaos' theme plays during the first phase and "Open Your Heart" is playing during the second phase.

Metal Sonic performs in the action stage/boss level, the same level clear pose as Sonic but he doesn't speak, and I think Metal Sonic should get more of a chance to speak with his own voice in the future Sonic games to come
