I feel the video didn't give enough mentioned, much less credit to Spain's involment at the battle of Lepanto. The Venetians and their galleasses help in combating the Turkish fleet but the main reason why the Christians won was because of Spanish military might. If it wasn't for the Spanish Empire which included the Holy Roman Empire, vast possessions in the Americas, Asia and Pacific regions, Christianity would have fell to the Turks.

It´s true that spanish ships were 12, while thare was aprox 208 christian ships. Most ships were either venetian or from italian territories under spanish rule. However, most of the infantry on the ships was spanish, and they proved to be decisive for victory. And Don Juan was spanish.

the European's mistake was that they did not give chase to the muslim fleet and destroy them in the port. if they had done that, the threat of islam would have been over for ever. the Europeans were in a position to take over the throne of the ottomen and rule it and turn the muslim into their slaves.

@murggik la reconquista empieza en el 722 en la cornisa cantabrica (asturias,cantabria y pais vasco) en aquella epoca, los musulmanes habian ocupado el resto de la peninsula y estaban invadiendo francia. en la batalla de covadonga se derroto a una pequeno expedicion enviada a al cornisa y fue derrotada.10 a;os despues avanzando por francia fueron derrotados por los francos en poitiers.las 2 fechas no son incompatibles.y no se que cojones tiene que ver la conquista de america aqui.

I feel the video didn't give enough mentioned, much less credit to Spain's involment at the battle of Lepanto. The Venetians and their galleasses help in combating the Turkish fleet but the main reason why the Christians won was because of Spanish military might. If it wasn't for the Spanish Empire which included the Holy Roman Empire, vast possessions in the Americas, Asia and Pacific regions, Christianity would have fell to the Turks.
