for you information, not all koreans eat dogs, my family never ate dogs before and all my friends never ate a dog before. but, what they are doing to the puppy is so mean, I feel so bad for the puppy. The puppy is crying so hard!!!!!!!
That just looks so inhumane. Poor lil puppy....i see absolutely no reason why the front dew claws need to be removed the back ones seem to be more of a problem. But i had my puppies done when he was neutered he had 2 doubles on the back feet that were dangling but i left his front ones. This poor puppy is crying hes obv in pain....i see this as cruel.
you should have glued it, less hassle, no mess, faster and much better for the puppy...also 5 days old is way too old to get the dewclaws done, it really hurts the puppy, it should have been done at 1-3 days tops.
My dalmatian broke one of her dews when she was playing outside one day . My nabors dog ripped one of his dewclaws when he jumped their fence . It was terrible . It is so much more worth getting them removed when they are little . When you declaw them they really only feel like a pinch and its done . Two seconds later they dont even remember what happened because their attention spands are very short .
awww I know you guys are saying that this dosent hurt the puppy but i like almost cried watching this because i love animals and getting something removed that is optional and not life threatening for them i think that's really wrong likke imagine if you were the pet and you got your nails ripped off because your owner thought it was the right thing to do...im just saying i wouldnt do it if I get a dog.
i was doing some research on tail docking and dew claw removal because i am getting a weimaraner soon and this will be done. it isnt as bad as i thought it would be, its good to know that you are at least doing it properly.
its not evil...I am in vet school....its like a lil pinch to them at that age...would u rather have them wait till like they are a yr old and them being put under G/A and have a longer recovery time....i dont think so...the puppy is screaming cause it feels a lil pinch. before u call something evil...do some research on it or talk to your local vet.
@Cflynn16 its just pure for lazy people, if they'd clip the nail like any normal person you wont have any trouble at all.. unless your dog is used for hunting or its poorly bred and doesnt have it attached to the bone.. I say its pretty useless and selfish to remove them.
@Cflynn16 No my family breeds dogs.. I dont have to be vet's assistant (meaning you're nothing like the vet) to understand what it can cause but removing dew claws just becouse the owner is not willing enough to watch over their dogs and check them once a week, says enough, we've had so many dogs in the family, active dogs, and never had any problems with ripped dew claws.. and they even use them to climb ontop of the fallen trees and rocks.. so cant say they are completly useless.
@LunaTemari oh its on....I am NOT talking nonsence you hard headed person....we have different views....diferent experiences.....so now lets move on cause this is gong no where....either of us are talking nonsence you rude person.
@Cflynn16 are you still going on about this? kinda suprizing since you were the first one starting about "letting it go" sorry but I do have a life I wish to spend my time on and not on your little war here.. keep your word and let it go for god sake and try to grow up. I'm asking you nicely.
@Cflynn16 thats the funny thing, I moved on quite a while ago, thus why I'm asking if this is still bothering you?
please seek help, you need it. my life is great atleast I dont worry so much about a comment that was made over 2 months ago. only a child would or a very immature person, have a nice day.
@Cflynn16 I agree that they cry over a lot of things, let's face it, it's their one mode of communciation at that age. But the fact is that we cannot feel what they feel. A lot of the puppies scream when they get their dew claws removed and/or their tails docked. Why do people always insist it doesn't hurt when you can see the puppy screech in distress at the exact moment they're doing the procedure? Why do they never use any topical pain killer?
@mycyan of course they can feel it....but its like a pinch......prob because someone they dont know is doing something to them. they do the same thing when u cut their nails. they are supposed to use topical pain killer.
I never had reason to remove the dew claws on any of my dogs. I've seen some breeds actually have double dew claws!

what are the reasons for amputating the dew claw?
Tyfasi 9 months ago
@Tyfasi Because of this dew claw the dog can get hurt when he run, it's not a major injury but there is a risk the wound would get infected.

yeah but anyone who has ever raised puppies knows they scream like that when you don't hurt them ... like just picking them up to weigh them.
advfhorn 2 years ago 2
Don't you feel like yelling a little when your ears get pierced?
Dew claw removal is better now than in the future when the dog gets it caught on something and rips it off. THEN IT WILL SCREAM.
Now, like cflynn16 said, its just a little pinch.
If you don't know what exactly your talking about *i am so mad right now, i can't see straight* then don't talk.
this is saving the puppy A TON MORE PAIN LATER ON.
great job by the way.
