An even better question is what the Hell does "Moral progress" even mean in an atheist universe ? you personally prefer some morals better than others? Evolution does not have any moral goals in mind , it doenst care if you want a society with more femnism etc. , evolution has no direction as long as you survive, and the Idea that Morality is what helps you surivive is only a wild assertion,The bible is not Moral law, it points to it ,but must deal with hard heartedness along the way
