The modern day version of this, would be 18 Chinese refugees tumbling out from behind the curtain. Where we would promptly give them a house, car and some cash, but a dog or a cat, OMFG NO WAY, KEEP EM OUT!!
@hotelmario510 You find everything in humour then. I suppose a defense mechanism where by its stops you growing up and joining the rest of us in the adult world.
@Professor6871 Well, I'm sorry if I don't want to be miserable like you are. How dare you tell me what I can and can't laugh at. I can laugh at rabies if I wish to. @Applemask, do the right thing and block this douchebag.
@pidgin There isn't any French custom officer now at a channel port thanks to the EU, they leave it all too the British ones to guard us. The French are now in the export market: illeagal immigrants, drug trafficers, organised crime and terrorists.
If the Brussels beaucrates got their way there wouldn't be any one on this side of the channel either. We would be crawelling with rabid animals if the EU had got their way now.
We used to have this massive phobia about rabies in the seventies, but ironically it seems to have died even with the Channel Tunnel and the presence of rabid foxes in France.
@Glenn1967ful Yea rabies did die away as you say thereason was because the EU vaccinated all foxes in the early 00's against the diesase. Because of that we now have the pet's passport's where pet dogs and cats are allowed to entire Britian if they've been vaccinted and chipped against rabies.
I think there was a case in Boadhaux France a couple years ago, where a rabid dog was smuggled in from Morocco and bit a couple of people who needed treatment.
Hi! I was just atching your "Don't smuggle Adorable Death" PIF. I like it! I love PIFs ans PSAs-that's what wecall them in the United States. That stands forPublic sevice anoncements. I'm not sure if i get the jist of what's going on in this one though. I understand that animals can carry a variety of diseases-especially domestic animals like dogs and cats. We have laws about animal exportation, and in certain states there are warnings about what animals to watch out for.
Still, could you explain to me just what it is that the trucker is doing wrong? In The US, alot of truckers and vacationers take their pets on cross-country trips, and there's usually no problems, as long as the animals have all their shots and updated medical checkups. Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for the reply. I do forget that the rules abroad are different than the rules here, and so is the general area. I mean-drivinf East to West, you could go from coast to coast and still be in the US, so the lawsxregarding animal transport are pretty much the same (with a few exceptions) in the west and southwestern states) but in Europe you pass through many different countries going from one side to the other. I forgot about that! Thanks for setting me straight!
@skamp25 Not impossible for dogs to contract HIV cats certainly can have it . If monkeys can carry the disease in Africa, where it orginated, then all mammals are potentially at risk of catching the virus.
@Professor6871 This was British public information film about stopping lorry drivers taking their pets illeagally into the UK. The world doen't always revolve arounf the US and where rabies free and we want it too stay that way thank you very much.
@Professor6871 Gee, I didn't mean to make anyone think that I was saying that the US is better than any one (which is certainly not true, of course-right now we're a laughingstock), or that the world revolves around the US, which it doesn't, of course! I'm just simply trying to understand how and why laws in different countries are made and used, and why some laws are universal-that is, almost the same in most countries-and why some are used in only a few countries. Sorry if I offended you.
In Ratchet & Clank: Locked and Loaded on the PS2, there's an enemy called the "Gadgetron Hound of Cuddly Death", which fits because it's a little doggie gone wrong.
Yeah, those French dogs tend to retreat when we need to use them for bomb-sniffing in Afghanistan.

I love how the French customs officer salutes the lorry driver - I really hope that still happens. Something tells me it doesn't, though.

Death appears in the form of a dog and I thought the Goetia demons (Asmodeus, Belial, etc.) were the only ones who could turn into animals.

@spy4863 To take animals abroad you need to place them a mandatory six-week or so quarantine to prove they haven't got AIDS.

I quarantined my cat when I moved from Canada to England.
He was mad as a motherfucker when he finally got out, but not the sort of mad that the authorities are worried about.

No, the driver has taken a rabies-infected dog and is keeping it. It's not his pet.
